damn, i've becme a macaholic.

Started with the iPod, then the Mac Mini, then the iMac, now I'm buying an iBook.

12 inch one FULLY LOADED.

I need something small to take to lectures and when going on trips.

My Custom Toshiba is too big, the iMac is for downstairs, and the Mini is on the same desk as the laptop.

I got two close friends to buy iMacs and iPod minis

oh and i just bought a shuffle today as well!

the strange thing is, I WANT MORE!

APPLE MOBILE, APPLE CAR, APPLE TV! Ooooooh Apple Tv, Imagine it in it's all whity laquer ipody goodness. mmmmm tasty.

Oh quick question. (since i cant sleep thinking about it)

If I go to the Apple store tomorrow and ask for everything (actually I kind of fibbed its 765 mb ram not the 1.2 gb so its not THAT fully loaded) will they have it>

If not will they do it for me there (spec it up) and ask me to come abck in an hour. I dont think I can wait a whole day :'(

well technically crazy, its aluminium but there used to be titanium ones, hehe.

well amnesia you could always get a g5, mebe get an old imac like a g4 and/or a g3, they arent that much on ebay... you could get a powerbook, an emac, make sure you get the ipod socks... (they are actually really good...)

I didn't think Apple held BTO Mac's in their stores. Depends on what you want adding, but I always was under the impression you'd need to order it, if you wanted a non stock specced machine. Guess it depends - you could just buy the RAM at another place and install it yourself? What else would you be wanting?

Bluetooth i'd imagine - which isn't stock, and isn't installable either.

Larger HDD?

If they have stock of one of these machines, great! I'd imagine maybe not though, so maybe you should call them first! :)

i already own a G5 :D

I managed to get mine, max spec just the ram 765, that's great. Took me an hour of waiting and got over 100 pounds discount with my student discount.

I'm loving it now, and thinking of modding it.

That mactv is ugleh :p

I want a plasma screen that looks like a G5, that would be sweet.

I was near the Apple store anyway (staying at a hotel) so i popped in, asked some Q's and walked out with a nice iBook.

It's updating as we speak.

One problem I have though is with my WIFI.... It says wrong password and it's right. I'm sure of it.

Someone said to do a Disk Fix to fix permissions.

Guess I'll try that.

Oh and my iBook had a few oil smudges. I guess it's from the ram? It doesn't look refurbished, I'd be ****ed if it was.

I'll post pics later on.

    • You are clueless. The updates are done in the background so the next time you open Edge the updates are applied automatically. There is no need to close all your tabs. Just keep browsing like you normally do. Clearly you don't use Edge and are just one of those haters that complain for the sake of complaining.
    • I don't get this David. Can you explain it please.
    • Microsoft is busy. Lots of changes to be released imminently for Windows server or soon. Also, lots happening for next version as well. Third party virus scanning software is being moved out of Kernel mode to avoid repeat of Crowdstrike incident. Windows Protected Mode and Windows Ready Print no longer require third party print drivers to be installed. New storage stack being developed. New NVME drivers now available for Windows Server 2025 to improve local NVME drive performance by 60+ percent. NVME-Of of fabric being worked on for next release to improve network access to NVME drives. ReFs (next file system) now has ability to boot and will become default file system in next release of Windows Server. ReFs improves on NTFS in several areas including resiliency and reliability and scalability. New update stack is being worked on to unify Windows updates, and updates for drivers and first party/3rd party application software. A stricter and more robust third-party driver certification program (ODI) is being worked on to improve performance, thermals, battery life, and reliability on modern Windows hardware by tightening how OEMs and IHVs (Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, etc.) build and ship drivers. There is a tone more but too numerous to mention.
    • Now disable that stupid OneDrive backup request when Windows starts please. So unbelievably frustrating to only have “remind me later” instead of “no and never ask me again”
    • Hello, The Media Creation Tool is still at v10.0.26100.7019 from October 2025. Just looks like the backend has been updated. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
