Always getting Incoming call message when connected to the Internet

Recommended Posts

I always get an "Incoming Call" message which then disconnect my dial-up connection.

My phone line doesn't have a waiting call feature, so anybody calling during my online session should get a busy signal.

How do I disable this?

I'm using Windows XP home on DELL Inspiron 2650 notebook.

The modem is PCTEL 2304WT V.92 MDC (internal modem)

Is there any registry setting or INIT setting that I have to set?

And my ISP doesnot support V.92 yet.

Thanks

here to disable call waiting i have to dail *70+phone number.

yes you say you don't have call waiting, but still, you could try this..:ponder:

i'm not familiar w/ that modem but check it's options, maybe you can disable that "incoming call" thingie.

I don't see how it would do that if you don't have call waiting? but I guess it's possible.

try disableing call waiting with (*70,000-0000).The comma makes the modem pause it's dialing for 1 sec, fill the zeros with your isp number. If you don't really have call waiting then you will get a busy signal.

*70 is what most telephone companies use. If in doubt call and ask.
