MazX_Napalm
1) Yes (as long as you have purchased it) 2) Yes (it does what it was designed to do) 3) Yes and No (depends what you want to do) Back to point 1. It is very expensive to use as a client based OS (you can buy 10 full XP cd's for the price of ser4ver). Yes you can get cheap versions and 180 trial versions, but MS intended these to be used in a testing environment, not as a day to day OS (even if you uninstall it after the 180days). On point 2, it works very well as a server. Does almost everything a normal server needs to do. It has some flaws and doesn't include every senario, but as a server OS in a Windows environment it is good. (Ouch a penguin just bit me!) On point 3. If you are playing games, email, web, graphics,..... you are better off with XP. In the home it is very unlikely that you will be having more that 10 users accessing an XP pc (XP can run as a server to some degree, think web/file/print). MazX_Napalm
This is prob the last thread on "Server as a client" that I'm going to reply to or even read. 2-1 this guy will be posting in here in a day or two about drivers, apps,....... As this is my last post on the subject I'm going to rant: Server is not a client OS. It is a a server OS, hence the name Server. Confused.... I have three clients all using it and they do everything a Server OS should do. But as a client OS? Not a chance.
