Router survey

Hello all,

I'm about to get a PowerBook (cheers), and will set up a wireless network in my new place -

What wireless routers work well with APExtreme and Panther, and which should I avoid? User experiences helpful. (Let's avoid the 'wait 'til Tiger' discussion 'cause is it April, or June...)

A combination cable modem/wireless router would be ideal at this point.

I have a netgear router and an airport express. Both work great.

I have a printer and speakers attached to the airport express and anybody can use them both wirelessly and with an ethernet cable.

I use a Wireless G Linksys Router. Works with both B and G frequencies. And you can download customized firmware to enhance it more. :)

I highly recommend trying Linksys.

netgear G router works great for my PowerBook, PC and Xbox!!

I have my desktop PC & Mac connected with cables & my laptop wirelessly to a Netgear DG834G & all work fine :)

Linksys WRT54G + Sveasoft Firmware... 'nuff said.

Any 802.11b or 802.11g compliant router will work.

My wireless Linksys access point worked great with the two Macs I had.

They are all compatible aslong as they conform to the 802.11B/G WiFi protocol.

Which basically every single one sold is, netgear linksys so on are all fully compatible and work aswell as they do if they was being used in a Windows computer environment. so just read some online reviews of Wireless routers and buy the one that the real reviewers suggest to you.

Definantly linksys i have heard that netgear routers sometimes overheat and restart.

I used 3com office, and it worked ok, but the signal wasn't strong on my mac(was ok on windows), then changed to dlink g605t, which is much better now, signal speed everything

My Netgear sits pretty close to at radiator and has never overheated or restarted of it's own accord

I use a D-link Airplus Xtreme G Wireless router. It works fine and i have my Airport Express across the room wirelessly joined to the network.

Powerbook 12 incher, Netgear WGR614 Router(make sure to update both the AE and NG drivers otherwise the connection is shakey)
