Ripped from description on the Maxthon forum. abc@home is the author of the plugin and this one is a killer, I tell ya!

Description as follows:

Plugin Manager 4.00 is the ultimate Plugin/Userscripts manager. Webpage customisation can't be easiler! :D

Auto run functions in plugin dropdown menu

In addition to the default function of 300+ maxthon script type toolbar plugins available in the Plugin Site, users can also auto run any function available in the dropdown menu of these plugins. eg:

- with the MyStyle plugin, users can automatically apply any of the 7 available styles to specific websites;

- with the Continuous Reload plugin, users can automatically start auto refresh in specific websites with any of the 10 available refresh rates.

- with the Ultra Translator, users can automatically translate specific websites from any of the 9 available lanugages to English, and vice versa.

...and much more for users to explore.

By default, setup/help and similar functions are excluded since they are obviously not suitable for auto run. If users are not sure if a particular function is suitable for auto run, they may enquire relevant plugin authors.

Support for user scripts/bookmarklets

Inspired by the dicussion of Greasemonkey for Maxthon?, Plugin Manager 4.00 can auto run any IE compatible javascript/bookmarklets. There are abundant of js/bookmarklet resources available in the internet for various tasks, eg: Dynamic Drive and Bookmarklets.com. With Plugin Manager 4.00, any of these javascripts/bookmarklets can be automatically run in specific websites without converting to Maxthon Plugins.

For javascripts, simply copy to the UserScripts folder. For bookmarklets, users have to "convert" them to javascripts - right click the bookmarklet's link and copy the shortcut, paste the shortcut in Notepad or any text editor, save the file to the UserScripts folder, and name the file with extension ".js". (Note:some bookmarklets may contain escaped characters, users may need to convert each instance of "%22" to a double quotes ", and each "%20" to an empty space) Plugin Manager can detect the javascripts and list them out for users to select.

WARNINGS: Like any program/plugin/extension, javascripts/bookmarklets can also be malicious. So use only javascripts/bookmarklets you trust and use at your own risks.

Support for Wildcard/Regular Expression

It's amazing that so many users praise the support of regular expression in a firefox extension. While regular expression is useful in matching, and often replacing complicated text patterns, it is way overkilled for matching urls. Anyway it is pretty simple to implement, Plugin Manager 4.00 now supports literal regular expression as well as traditional wildcards "*" & "?" in matching urls.

eg, to match http://s.abc.com, http://s1.abc.com, http://s2.abc.com, ... any of the following entries can be used:

1. ".abc.com" - no wildcard/regular expression is used, all urls containing ".abc.com" will be matched; or

2. "s*.abc.com" - wildcard "*" is used, all urls containing "s", followed by any number of characters/punctuation marks, and then followed by ".abc.com" will be matched; or

3. "/s\d*\.abc\.com/" - literal regular expression (ignore case flag "i" is automatically added), all urls containg "s", followed by any number of digits (only), and then followed by ".abc.com" will be matched.

Each entry can use only one method, but different methods can be used for different entries in the same Execution/Exception List. Note: Wildcard/regular expression matching requires more cpu processing. So use only when necessary.

Improved Efficiency

Unlike previous versions, Plugin Manager 4.00 does not embed imported scripts in its default url matching script. Imported scripts are separately stored in the Imports folder. Only relevant imported scripts will be loaded and run when the url of a page is matched.

That is no matter how many maxthon plugins/userscripts are to be auto started, only a small url matching script of 1.6K will be loaded and run on every page unless matches are found. This avoids any unnecessary overhead cpu/memory usage.

Higher Security

Plugin Manager 4.00 will automatically remove the security id it uses once it finishes running the plugins/userscripts. Any security id used by the plugins auto run by Plugin Manager will also be removed as well. This practically eliminates any chance of the security id being used by remote webpages.

What this means, in very very simple words is that you can have plugins or custom javascript run on custom pages. So lets say you want to use a different font on neowin.net ONLY, just use the myStyle plugin and set it to autorun on neowin. All other pages will not autorun the plugin.

It could also, as an other example, be used to remove all flash media on any server you want. Just use the Disable Page Annoyances plugin and set it to remove flash on the sites you don't want it on.

I'm right with you carpediem

This is one of the best plugins ever made, if not the best. It makes browsing so easy and smooth. It controls every plugin, when you want it and how you want it used. After using Plugin Manager, you cant ever imagine never using it.

It doesnt "affect" me, I'm just saying, version inflating to make a product look more stable and feature-rich just isn't right.

It's not like this plugin was released recently or it has had a couple of updates. It's about a year old it's been updates probably 20+ times. The past 4 or so updates have completely changed the plugins function, thus each official update went threw a lot of testing versions before they were officially released

"users can automatically apply any of the 7 available styles to specific websites": Opera has had styles built-in for ages

"with the Continuous Reload plugin, users can automatically start auto refresh in specific websites with any of the 10 available refresh rates" : same

"with the Ultra Translator, users can automatically translate specific websites from any of the 9 available lanugages to English, and vice versa" : Opera has had hotclick since (I believe) version 6.x

So tell us, where can we find this plugin for Opera? (This plugin was out way before Opera 8 and even 7.6 beta too, mind you).

585916779

Also, Opera did not begin with version 7.6 beta.

Edit: Just so you know, I was referring to the features listed ^ there. After rereading the original post, I see that the plugin itself does not create these features, so my comments are not really aimed at the plugin itself, just the list of features given in the first post.

So Opera would NOT have this feature then. Glad we got that cleared.

Yes, Opera has these features. They are just not handled by plug-ins. They are all built-in (since, I believe, at least very early ver. 7 Opera releases, possibly 6.x)

"HotClick" as Opera has called it for some time now.

You get the point, all of this has been in Opera for many versions, and in fact Opera had them all first, if I remember correctly. :)

No, having it first isn't THAT important, but competetition is fun!

I won't post any more crap in this thread! :D

The official version number is beta 0 of build 0 of preview 5 of version 0.1, or 0.1.5.0.0 for short. I thought you know this! lol

585931196

You probably miss the point. The idea of this plugin is to allow users to run other plugins automatically on per page/site basis.

The MyStyle/Language Translation/Continuous Reload plugins are merely 3 of 300+ compatible maxthon plugins. They have been available for some time, what's new is the way how they can be used now. With this plugin, maxthon users can:

- automatically apply custom stylesheet A to site A, custom stylesheet B to site B, ...

- automatically translate site A from French, site B from Dutch, ...

- automatically set page A to reload every 30 s, page B to reload every 2 minutes, ...

OK opera supports custom stylesheet, language translation, and auto reload, but does opera supports doing these automatically on per page/site basis? ;) And let's not forget the other 300+ plugins.

Yeah, I noticed a while ago, after rereading the original post, that I had completely misunderstood the plugins function, and stated so in one of my posts. Here it is again, to clarify:

I was referring to the features listed.. After rereading the original post, I see that the plugin itself does not create these features, so my comments are not really aimed at the plugin itself, just the list of features given in the first post.

I admit, I originally opened my mouth before fully understanding what the post was about.

However, some browsers resist this change, and Opera issued a statement that it will allow users to continue using MV2 extensions for as long as possible. While Microsoft is still not ready to share new details about MV2 extensions in Microsoft Edge, the company shared important details about the way it will be updating the browser going forward. • Microsoft Flight Simulator's City Update 15 enhances Midwest cities by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The third major city update of the year has landed for the original Microsoft Flight Simulator and the 2024 release. The latest drop is upgrading the visuals and regional accuracy of three metropolitan regions in the American states of Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The 15th city update is adding eight new areas of interest that have been enhanced with high-fidelity TIN (triangulated irregular network) surface texturing in the mentioned regions. The free update highlights Chicago, Elgin, Cicero, and Arlington Heights in Illinois, as well as Minneapolis, St. Paul, Bloomington, Duluth, Brooklyn Park, Woodbury, Lakeville, Plymouth, and Blaine in Minnesota. In Wisconsin, the development has also upgraded the lands and buildings of Milwaukee, Madison, and Racine. The update lands just as one of the world's largest enthusiast flight simulation conventions, FlightSimExpo, kicks off in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 14. The Flight Sim development team's 40-minute keynote at the event can be watched here. At the same time, Microsoft is bringing the 6-seat, single-engine, multi-use light civil airplane Piper M600 into the game as a part of its Expert Series 2 program. This premium plane can be purchased from the in-game marketplace for $24.99. City Update 15: The United States Midwest is now available in Microsoft Flight Simulator, as well as the newer Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, as an optional download. It can be accessed across Steam and the Microsoft Store for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, as well as Xbox and PC Game Pass subscriptions. Xbox One, mobile, and PC players can also jump into the new content using Xbox Cloud Gaming if they have a Game Pass Ultimate membership. The game must be updated to the latest version to download this free update from the in-game marketplace.
    • Five things you might have missed during Apple's WWDC 2026 by Aditya Tiwari Image: Apple Apple's annual developer event, WWDC 2026, happened from June 8 through June 12. We have already covered several new features and updates that the iPhone maker unveiled during the official keynote. Apple took Google's help and finally announced the upgraded Siri AI personal assistant, which now comes with an app. Moreover, a truckload of Apple Intelligence features took the center stage. That said, this year's WWDC is a bit different, and you might have noticed or missed the following stuff: Apple's ongoing unification of platforms Image: Apple One thing Apple is widely known for is its seamless hardware-software ecosystem. The company added a new chapter in 2020, when it began the Apple Silicon transition and launched macOS 11 Big Sur with native ARM support. Some major changes happened last year as well, when Apple renamed all of its operating systems to version 26 and introduced the Liquid Glass design language. Until WWDC 2025, Apple keynotes had dedicated segments for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and other operating systems, in which the company discussed each in detail. The WWDC 2026 keynote was different, and Apple allotted most of the screen time to Apple Intelligence and Siri. It didn't even publish separate press releases on its website for different operating systems. While it might seem surprising at first, it shows how Apple plans to move forward with its software ecosystem. Be it the Liquid Glass changes, child safety updates, or other features, they are mostly rolling out across multiple platforms. In other words, Apple is slowly blurring the line between its operating systems and achieving feature parity wherever possible. It's easy to rule out that someone in Apple's marketing team forgot to press the publish button. Everything is a calculated move when it comes to a company like Apple. Putting Apple Intelligence left, right, and center hints that the OS itself is no longer the product anymore. It's Siri, not Pepsi Time and again, various Apple products have been compared to unrelated things and turned into meme material. You might have heard about the "cheese grater" Mac Pro or the "trash can" Mac Pro, to name a few. It's Siri's turn this time. The upgraded AI assistant got a fresh logo, and people have started comparing it with Pepsi. There are other contenders, such as the Sony Ericsson logo and the Yin and Yang symbol. Shot on iPhone. Edited on Mac Image: Apple Apple has been putting the iPhone's camera muscles to the test on various occasions. Even NASA astronauts took it to Space earlier this year and captured some out-of-this-world photos. Recently, Apple TV streamed the first major live sporting event shot entirely on iPhone 17 Pro: an MLS match featuring the LA Galaxy vs. the Houston Dynamo FC. The 'Pro' iPhone has also been used to shoot Apple events in recent years. It's "Scary Fast" Mac event in 2023 was among the earliest attempts, and the tradition trickled down to the WWDC 2026 keynote, which ended with the tag line "Shot on iPhone. Edited on Mac." It's unsurprising to see Apple flexing the camera capabilities of its Pro models, especially when it has been baking professional-grade features, including ProRes RAW and Genlock. Hints for the foldable Apple has been sitting on the foldable iPhone for so long. There is still confusion over when the company will make it official. A recent report said that the iPhone Fold might get delayed as Apple is struggling to perfect its hinge mechanism. But Apple has been dropping hints here and there. A developer dug into the iOS 27 beta code and found internal references about device folding states. As verified by Macworld, the code includes references to "foldState" and "angleDegrees" internal status values, which are apparently designed to tell apps if a device is folded and at what angle. As of now, no other Apple device uses these states. The publication also found internal code suggesting Apple has been testing a device with both Touch ID and Dynamic Island, a combo that doesn't exist today. Last event as Apple CEO Image: Apple Tim Cook's bond with Apple is now almost three decades old, having started in 1998 as the SVP of Worldwide Operations. Back in August 2011, Steve Jobs stepped down as Apple CEO months before his passing, and Cook took charge. Now, the baton has been passed to the hardware chief, John Ternus, who will take over the role on September 1. WWDC 2026 is the last major Apple Event for Tim Cook as CEO. We have seen so much during Cook's tenure over the years, much of which defines Apple as we know it today. From new hardware product lines like Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple Silicon, to boosting Apple's services business with Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Pay, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+, Apple Care One, and more. That said, the first developer betas for Apple's latest operating systems are now available. You can check if your device is supported on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, watchOS 27, and other platforms. What's your favorite feature that Apple announced this year at WWDC 2026? Tell us in the comments.
