improving...

but how about something more like the intensity of blue that neowin has. except a little brighter.

[edit]

actually, now that i think about it, that might be a pretty good idea.

lots of the themes i use, have different colors.

and i spend most of my time on my computer, lookin at neowin.:D

so if the theme matches neowin well, that'll be really something!

***just something to think about*** ;)

That's funny, I never heard anyone complain about the purple of the original Rhodium edge? Hell arhra, just make the theme the way you want, it's your work. People, don't start nit picking over colors, the theme is still a work in progress. I'm sure arhra will release other colors over time if he sees a need.

i understand, but it seems that everyone would like to see this change from the purplish color.

and i can't speak for arhra, but i would think that it's better to say all these things while it is still a work in progress.

lets say no one says anything, and he finishes the whole theme using the original color scheme.

then everyone starts 'nit picking'...i doubt he would be really happy to do it then.

esp when he puts out betas for BETA TESTING.

if you don't agree, speak up arhra. but you seem really accepting of our requests.

so again, keep up the great work.;)

No, what I was saying was let him finish the first theme then make your color suggestions. Bug reports yes but how the hell does recoloring the original theme work out bugs? All it does is slow down the progress. Like you said let arhra speak for himself but I would like to see this theme hit the streets asap without recoloring it 50 shades of blue first.

well the original blue is gonna stay as the default, mainly because i can't be arsed going through and changing all the graphics for the litestep theme... (although i may get round to a deeper blue version of it eventually).

anyway, i've been fiddling a bit more (aren't stylebuilder's colorization options great? ;) ), but at this point, i've got more important things to do (like get the logoff/shutdown buttons done, the programs menu needs overhauling, etc).

if you really want it a particular shade of blue, feel free to import it into stylebuilder and colorize it yourself :p

personally i absolutely loved the original purple color, if for no other reason than simply because it didn't look like very other theme/color combination out there.

if another color(s) is to be added, at least keep the original in the final release so those that didn't want a change will still be satisfied.

having choices is what theming is all about anyway, right?

good luck sorting it all out arhra!

[EDIT] oh, i see arhra beat me to it! excellent! :D [/EDIT]

understood.:p

i can wait though. esp since i'll be happier to see the version that i'll be happy use. not gay to use.:p :D ;)

minor issues:

- with a double-height task bar, the top & bottom lines jam right up against the edge of the blue tray box. looks like the spacing is just set too large between the lines - dunno if that can be changed or not...

- the name: rhodium edge ii - eh. how about rhodium edge reloaded??? ;)

and i like the blue you've chosen - don't change that.

keep up the great work!

but i'm surprized you didn't make the log off and turn off buttons rhodium, and the start button too, and the all programs button.

and maybe even include a wallpaper that you think goes with rhodium edge vII

rhodium edge vII beta - beta As in still in development. It's not even in the "Completed Visual Styles" forum. I'm sure arhra won't disappoint when he does release this as final.

"subliminal message" (arhra think orange and black) :D

OMFG!!!!

I am going to officially switch to litestep JUST for this theme!!!

/me hugs arhra

but uhh arha... can you do me (and Dazzla) a huge favor... and sorta incorporate this (http://images.deviantart.com/large/screens...s/dt2k20505.png) into the theme... if you did i'd love you forever LOL. i'm really talking just about the minimize/maximize/close part of the toolbar... thats the best part...

but otherwise... keep up the good work!!!

    • Windows 11 KB5094126, KB5093998 bugging out Office apps but it may not be Microsoft's fault by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. Although the tech giant did not acknowledge any major problems, some users online reported various issues ranging from OneDrive and Dropbox access problems, BitLocker recovery lockouts, to blue screens and BSODs. You can read about them in this dedicated piece. While there is still no confirmation about those problems from Microsoft the company has admitted to another bug which we did not report on. The tech giant has confirmed it has received reports of an issue in which certain third-party applications may be unable to launch Microsoft Office apps or open Office documents after installing the Patch Tuesday. This affects both Windows 11 as well as Windows 10. The company says the problem impacts a subset of applications that rely on OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) automation to communicate with Microsoft Office programs. According to Microsoft, affected scenarios involve third-party software attempting to open Office applications or documents from within their own interface. In such cases, the Office program may fail to launch altogether, or the requested document may not open. Oddly there may not be any error message, which probably makes the issue difficult to diagnose. The bug affects several Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other apps in the Microsoft Office suite when they are launched through the affected software. These include tax and accounting software such as CCH Engagement and Workpaper Manager, dental practice management solutions like Dentrix and Softdent, as well as the popular research and reference management tool Zotero. Microsoft adds that other applications using similar Office integration methods could also experience the same problematic behavior. To understand the issue it is important to look at OLE, the Microsoft technology involved. OLE allows different applications to work together and share data, while its Automation feature lets one program control another. Thus this enables third-party software to launch Microsoft Office apps, open documents, and perform tasks automatically without requiring users to switch between programs. Because many accounting, healthcare, research, and business applications rely on OLE automation to interact with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office apps, any disruption can break those workflows. As a result, affected software may be unable to open Office documents or launch Office applications even though the programs themselves continue to work normally. At the moment the company has not provided a permanent fix though it has confirmed that engineers are actively working on a resolution, which will be delivered through a future Windows update. As such additional details will be shared once more information becomes available. In the meantime, Microsoft recommends a simple workaround for affected users whic is to open the Office application or document directly rather than launching it through the third-party program. For enterprise customers and organizations managing larger deployments, Microsoft says an additional mitigation is available. Admins experiencing the problem on their managed devices are advised to contact Microsoft Support for business to obtain and apply the workaround.
