[REQ] Image manipulation


Question

I am in the final stages of doing my Tech project, and unfortunately, my photoshop skills arent great. All i want is tht somebody helps me to insert the picture of mazeratti into the frame of the pic of my picture frame, so that it looks more or less realistic. Or at least tell how i can insert he pic and wot sort of shadows i need. :rolleyes:

I will greatly appreciate your help guys :yes:

wayrad, shut up.

Let's take a look at the image that's there already. Notice it isn't quite square? That's your first point - you'll need to use Photoshop to distort the image by dragging each corner seperately so that it fits in the shape of the frame.

Secondly, let's look at the top of the current image in the frame -- see how the shadow on the frame creates a black-gradient on the top? You'll need to put that in artificially also. Give those two things a go - distort the image, skew etc. so it's the same shape as the frame, then play with shadows.

For example, this is what I came up with in 10 minutes. It needs a lot of work but it looks better than just "pasting the image in" which is what I expect you did before.

Steps:

~ Roughly measure the ratio of the picture frame inside

~ Cut out a part of the wallpaper with that ratio

~ Paste and distort it inside the frame

~ Add top shadow

~ Add subtle inner shadow all round

~ Add random noise to the car pic, to simulate the quality of the photo etc.
