Importing songs from folders into iTunes

is there a way for iTunes to put my songs in a playlist just how they were in the folder since there are organized by track number in my folder but itunes just screwes everything up, I REALLY don't want to go through 2000 songs and add a track number 1-20 on every single song.

if your dont got the tracknumbers in the ID-3 tags your song wont be organised by tracknumber. simple as that.

iTunes auto-organizes based on what the ID-3 tags are in your files. Doofy was right. If you don't have the track numbers in the ID-3 tags (which you should, "organizing" only by file names is just plain dumb) then it's not going to do anything to help you.

I had them but when I upgraded to tiger and moved my music library over the track numbers dissapeared. :(
