Ok, thanks for your help dL.

But i have a few queries.

1) Reading from a few reviews. Some of them mention that the iRiver is never completely off, it is in standby. So it sucks a bit of battery life, is this true? If it is, how bad is the suck?

2) I can drag and drop my songs into the player right?

3) Can i drop my music onto the iRiver within folders, and will recognise it right?

I've owned an iPod mini, a Zen Micro, and now own an H10.

To say about sound quality, the Zen Micro is superior over the both.

H10 comes close second. They actually sound pretty identical, but to my ears, Zen Micro produced a more detailed sound.

However, I do really like the H10 for 31 EQ choices. (Although I only use two)

The iPod mini sounds just flat and boring compared to these, and EQing doesn't help at all.

For built quality, i don't know, but the iPod mini seems like well made. This is the only thing I particularly like about iPod mini. H10 is second again, with their super-elegant design. The Zen Micro feels a big bulky as well as really fragile because of the solid plastic body.

I do really like my H10, but for a someone who seeks a better SQ than other things, Zen Micro is the best choice.

But for someone who likes best for over all features, H10 is the best.

I don't know, the iPod mini just doesn't feel like a player to me especially when I see someone who has one with less than 10 songs on it.

For your queries:

1). Both Zen Micro and the H10 are on a Standby state when you turn it off. For the iRiver, that will turn off when there is no use for 12 hours. For Zen Micro, it is at 4 hours.(From the new firmware)

2). Yes for both.

3). You'll have to save it as a Playlist.

I own a iRiver H10, ever since the new firmware came out, sound quality greatly improved. (@ least that's what my ears tells me). iRiver looks elegant like someone said above, as for battery life, it last between 7-9 hours (That's cause I keep the using functions and the screen is on like 1/4 of the time). Otherwise, I am sure you will get more hours!

Don't forget that there is another new firmware available. The v2.01 has increased stability than the v2.00.

About the battery life, I get about 6-7 hours. It's mostly because of SRS WOW and Custom EQ, as well as going back and forth between playlists.

I would go for iRiver H10, it looks much nicer and has a vibrant colour screen etc.

But I heard that iRiver H10 has poor sound quality, correct me if I'm wrong.

Will do. You sir are wrong. I have an H10 and the sound quality is excellent, it's just that the buds it comes with (Sennheiser MX400) are really crappy. Upgrade to some nice headphones or buds and the sound is awesome. iRiver has also made an FM transmitter that is powered by the unit and fits to the top. With the new firmware, the song order is no longer a problem. It even comes with a fairly nice rubber case. Just don't read the Cnet review, as they have become iPod biased and it's a bit sad for them. H10 wont disappoint. $230 now at Best Buy after rebates this week.

lol. Sorry about all the questions but i have to make sure :/

1. How is the battery on the Zen Micro (Averagely)?

2. How much hours (averagely) does the H10 battery hold up for?

585825913[/snapback]

1). 8~9 hours but depends on how you are using it.

2). Most people get 7~8 hours on MiscticRiver but I get 6~7.

lol sorry but just ONE more question

But do i HAVE to make a playlist for every folder, cant the H10 read from directories????

I don't know, I did.

For picture folders they seem to read it.

    • "The 2TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSD hits lowest price in over three months¨ I'd prefer to see the lowest price in over a year
    • Glad these prices are starting to come down, but that is still crazy. I bought the 2TB 9100 Pro (slightly more expensive version with PCIe 5.0) last year for $240.
    • The 2TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSD hits lowest price in over three months by Sayan Sen Yesterday, we covered a really good deal wherein you can get a 4TB TeamGroup T-FORCE G50 NVMe PCIe Gen4 SSD for a low price of just $400 with a special discount coupon. That's just $100 per TB, making it a very good offer during these hard times. The deal is still live, so you can check it out in its dedicated article here if you do not want to miss out. Meanwhile, if you don't have that kind of budget but still wish to buy an SSD for a good price, the 2TB variant of the TeamGroup SSD at $280 its lowest price in over three months. Meanwhile, those seeking 2TB but faster performance can check out Samsung's 990 PRO, which has hit the lowest price also in the last quarter or so, as it's on sale for $370 (purchase links under the specs table down below). Thus, you want a faster drive, get the 990 Pro, or you want more capacity, grab the TeamGroup 4TB linked in the first para. The 990 PRO is a PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD and still one of the fastest drives available today for under $500. Speaking of fast, sequential reads and writes are rated at 7450 MB/s and 6900 MB/s, respectively. The random throughputs for reads and writes are 1400K IOPS and 1550K IOPS, respectively. The 990 PRO is based on Samsung's 7th Gen V-NAND flash, and it too is TLC. It packs 2 gigs of LPDDR4 DRAM cache, which helps the random performance. The endurance rating for this is 1200 TBW (terabytes written), which should be sufficient for most users. The Samsung 990 PRO is compatible with the PlayStation 5, but if you are going to use the 990 PRO on a PC, check out the Samsung Magician app that lets you track your drive's health, update its firmware, customize various settings, and more. • If you can't spell a simple word that 2nd graders learn, your entire argument is suspect.
    • And here goes the "Won't someone think of the children" brigade. Get stuffed mate. This has NOTHING to do with making the internet safe. It's about tracking adults, spying on your online activity, and sending the boys around when they don't like something you post. Also, again, parliament have voted TWICE against this, and Starmer is going ahead anyway. THAT is anti-democratic bullsh**. They will use this law to track you, they will use this law to control you, and they will use this law to punish you if they don't like what you do, even if it's legal. And your data? Say bye bye to that. It'll be on the darkweb in weeks. I'm not some rando online. I've been an IT professional for 40 years, many of it in security. I know exactly what this means and what will happen to your data. I do not consent and I will not comply.
