I know a few of you were wondering how to stop Rtvscan from running in the background. Well here is a simple fix. Type services.msc into the run box on the start menu, then when your list of services pops up set the one called Symantec AntiVirus to manual. Upon your next reboot no more Rtvscan. I am a gamer so I want my system with as few processes running in the background as possible. One of my gripes towards Norton/Symantec/Mcafee products is that they really bog down your system. I have successfully changed every Symantec service to manual in my services.msc not to mention unclicking ccapp and vptray in msconfig. My manual scans still work great just make sure you check for updates MANUALLY before doing so. I am currently debating between this program and NOD32. NOD32 has less enabled by default and has a lot small footprint but SAV isn't so bad after making these changes. If anyone wants to know ALL the services to disable like I did let me know if you can't figure it out. :)
