Well, they're going to a platform with 64MB of RAM. There will be texture sacrifices to do that.

when i seen doom3 on the xbox just a few days ago i fealt it was awefull compared to the pc version these pics of hl2 however look much closer to the pc version compared to the doom3 job.

They need to work on the engine a lot more for the xbox, it is pretty nice, but looks like a PC version of HL2 running on minimum settings. :(

Alyx's face in the second picture reminds me of the people in HL1. :whistle:

I think it's gonna be absolutly horrible. And just to note, i love it for the PC. The worst part is, if it does suck, it'll give the halo 2 fanboys more reason to hate half life 2.

For now, SC:CT is the best looking game on XBX. Those pics look mediocre.

Keep in mind, that for most XBox players, HL2 will be on 480i (480 lines interlaced). Even the max it can output is 480p (only console on the market to even offer that).

Now compare the same image at 1280x1024 or higher. Hit 1920x1280 and you are at HDTV 1080p specs (which are for the next TV I am getting).

As good as it looks, an XBox version of a game will NEVER compare to PC even on a lower end PC.

The aliasing is terrible, just look at the door in the first picture. Also the faces don't look very good. But the Xbox is a really low-end computer.
