mazda 6 is quite good. looks are alright but not too great in my opinion.

i was actually considering it as my new car too, but changed my mind as time went on. nothing special.

2.3 sport mazda 3 is nice (looks better then 6 imo) but only if you are a relatively small person. i am way too big for it, so it should be a consideration. but is size is no problem - mazda 3 2.3 liter is sweet. i approve.

golf GTI on other hand is FANTASTIC. they new redesign for this year (not just visual - engine, handling, etc are way more important changes)

had a LOT of improvment gone to it.

so of you dont might a bit of reliability issues (as brand new car most will be covered by warranty anyway)

ps. mazda (even though its japanese) has its share of reliabily problem too. own brand new car had over $2000 worth of replacements under warranty within first year. so i am almost positive your problem experience will be partly based on luck, esp with brand new car.

so again, get the new gold gti - it is actually worth the GTI label again (just like the first one), unlike the models of past years.

trust me, people who are complaining are basing their opinions on the previos models, not the new one. new GTI is quite special car. trust me, it is the one i would not mind be seeing. and i mostly like prestige bigger cars.

just test drive it

180 hp, 4-cylinder Turbo engine is the one used in audi a4, for last few years, and they were quite reliable.

^^ im not what you would call a small person, im about 190cm (~6'2") so headroom is quite important. On one hand I do like the 3, but i've heard/read that the radio head unit is custom and cannot be replaced with an aftermarket one. Also right now I do own a '98 golf and love the handling in it. So I guess its between the 6 and the GTI now. I'll probably just end up test driving both for an hour or so and taking the one I like. After that its off to the performance/audio shop :shifty:

What ever you decide to buy, make sure that if its a new model for that car, it has at least two years under it's belt. Their always finding so much defects the first couple of years that its best to wait a couple years for them to fix most of them.

Cars in general are hard to purchase. You'll find brand new cars voted as dependable at the dealer getting fixed and same goes for others. So much tech involved with cars now-a-days, its hard to say what car is best or worse.

An example is my wife owns a '97 Grand Am SE and it has over 130,000 miles and it's been to Florida and back to Chicago 5 different times and we put a hitch on it and traveled every time with a 5X8 trailer towing it and its still running perfectly minus small stuff like battery, radio, etc..

Just make sure you take care of it and if it's brand new, don't be flooring it until it's been driven a few thousand miles. Break it in first

    • I cannot believe this is a news post from Neowin. This should be embarassing, coming from a "senior editor". Is it your first day using Windows?! Maybe it's time to find a new Windows news site.
    • It's from having Core Isolation enabled in Windows security settings, which is a good thing!  It's letting you know it's not loading the Bonjour module as it's not signed in a way it would prefer. Bonjour was most likely installed along with iTunes. Feel free to disable that message using the checkbox.
    • I'm looking forward to starting over online. I have no reason to keep all the money, cars, rank after 13 years. Now if I can just move my character itself and nothing else. I would be fine with that. But I doubt they would do a setup that way.
