Ultraviolet
I have a 95 E Class Mercedes and the steering wheel is sticky, i assume that the vinyl is breaking down or somthing. Its got an airbag so i cant easily replace it otherwise i'd just buy a new one. Added to that i cant seem to find a steering wheel cover that is bigger than 15" or will fit a mercedes. If anyone knows of anyways to get rid of this or any products that are avalaible i'd really appreciate it as when the weathers nice my hands feel like i've been playing with duct tape! MR_Candyman
it's not vinyl, it's leather... and the stickiness is most likely the grease from your hands. Just run out and get some leather upholstry cleaner and a rag (paper towel will do) and wipe it down. if it's REALLY hot inside the car and your leather's dyed, it could be the dye doing that. Again, only thing to do is leather cleaner (apply it in the shade so it won't burn into the leather, causing discoloration) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/316490-sticky-steering-wheel/#findComment-585872658 Share on other sites

Ultraviolet
steering wheel cover are ugly Agreed but rather that then sticky hands. I don't think the wheel is leather but i'm normaly wrong about these things. I definatly dont think that its hand grease as i keep cleaning the wheel to apparently no effect still i will get some leather upholstry cleaner and try that as i've got to do somthing!
