Or google for "remaster knoppix", if that document isn't quite what you are looking for (I gave it a cursory review, and it seemed pretty easy-to-follow).

I was wondering how one goes about customizing Knoppix?

I want to get rid of the annoying boot up voice message.

As well as change the horrible wallpaper?

Thanks

Annoying boot up voice message? What version do you have? Maybe it was one of those special versions for magazines or tradeshows that was never publically released (on their website that is).

I remember the message, in 3.4, I think. I haven't really used a more current version of Knoppix, but I beleive that there was some sort of "initializing" voice message. And, yeah, it is somewhat annoying. :p

I believe I'm using the most recent download available.

When I boot it states Knoppix 3.8.
