Tommy Vercetti
Hi, I have a VIA Technologies, Inc. P4M266A-8235 Motherboard, with onboard sound. Now the problem is that it's a realtek sound chip(On the chip it shows the realtek logo on the mobo). The drivers from the VIAarena site as well as drivers from the Realtek site run pretty fine. Anybody has any ideas as to which ones I should be running... Thanx. P.S. The drivers in question are the VinlyAC97 codec and RealTek AC97 codec Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/317652-which-driver-to-use/ Share on other sites

HoochieMamma
I use the realtek ones (they seem to get updated more often) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/317652-which-driver-to-use/#findComment-585902867 Share on other sites
Tommy Vercetti
"realtek, via sound sucks." I know, can't help it, Creative Sound Blaster Audigy is very expensive where I live. Will be upgrading to the $49 one. Till then using this one And yes the Realtek ones are updated frequently on a monthly basis, The via are kind of dead. Had problems with earlier versions of Realtek, the new ones run perfectly with easy access to the equaliser using the system tray icon.
