I only have one question. If you were going to spend that much, why not get a 17" iMac instead? It would have been about the same price, but much higher performance.

Actually I was only allowed to get a monitor with that gift card. I got a replacment plan for my old LCD so it only replaces the monitor with another one. The best one they had was the one I got.

Had I got the oppertunity to get something else ofcourse iMac would have been the best choice.

Just bought a Mac Mini... my first Mac. Going to set it up tonight when I get time. I'll be upgrading the RAM next week. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Thanks for the help!

Quick question for you guys... my mini came installed with Panther and a Tiger DVD. I have booted from the DVD, and I would like to do an Erase and Install. However, I don't have a disc labeled iLife 05. Where do I install iLife from?

Congrats on your Mini. You wont regert buying it. Make sure that you upgrade the RAM to atleast 512MB. I did it and it runs much better than on 256MB.

The DVD only gives you an upgrade option. It will take ~45 mins to get Tiger installed.

Actually, the DVD let me do a clean install. I then installed iLife from the original Panther Setup DVD.

The RAM is already on order. I'm upgrading to 256 for sure. The model I used in the store was the same as this with 512 and it was indeed much smooth.
