I listen to a lot of music that people say "Wow, that's really depressing, why don't you listen to something more upbeat?" But I find these songs quite cheery myself.

I'm a really bubbly, cheery person, not meloncholy at all. And yet I find "depressing" songs really upbeat - they don't depress me.

hehe i did some research on gloomy sunday a few years ago, if memory serves me right the composer was hungarian and made the song after his girlfriend or fiancee left him. he killed himself after he heard the song and the girlfriend also killed herself after she heard it. pretty freaky ey?

the song has been redone by several artists and there is over about 30-50 versions afaik

that's all i can remember about it right now

edit: oh and i heard that it was only people that are down in the dumps that feel like they want to commit suicide after hearing the song

When Geothe (author of Faust) wrote "The Sorrows of Young Werther", quite a few people killed themselves directly after reading it. For some, the drive is already there, they just needs a catalyst. It's still a great book, though :) Neat song!
