Help! wireless question... airport express

hi ppl....

been following neowin for quite a while now.... finally decided to register, anyway:

I'm im college, and next year (september) i'll be moving with 2 friends of mine... thing is we get broadband (provided by the university) and we'll have a nice common area in which we wanna have wireless...

i'm guessing any wireless router will do it, right? (lan, dhcp) :unsure:

BUT since i'm a Mac-fan-wannabe :pinch: .... could we just hookup an airport express to an outlet and a lan cable? we all 3 have laptops (pc, not mac) will it work with centrino (good ol' 802.11b)? will airtunes work over our pc's? (we all use itunes)

or you can just suggest a nice wireless router that will do the trick for up to around 80 euros (~100 u.s dollars, for some of our friends from uncle sam's land :rolleyes: )

i forgot... i kinda wanna keep in mind upgradeability, we get gigabit lan, although our web is much slower, but i guess that 802.11g/n (or pre-n) could be in my plans in some months....

Welcome to the boards! One quick thing though... bumping your own thread is generally a big no-no, and not well regarded. If it floats off then thats what happens.

But since i'm here.... YES, airport express will work on any win/mac with a standards compliant wireless card. And yes AirTunes will work just fine.
