Question

Hey guys so I dont want to use phpBB because I hear of all these people who get hacked using that :unsure: So I hear that IPB is the best ey? Now what should I do though because that costs money;

Should I get the trial and then buy it later if I need it?

I heard that there are free full versions going around or somethng like older versions not sure mans I am complete noob at Forums etc. What are these free full versions?

Thanks :D

Firstly, you must buy a license in order to use any version of IPB. I bolded must because IPS is very hard on those who pirate their software.

The trial, is available, but there are set limitations.

http://invisionboard.com/?triallimited to see the limitation and to download it.

About the free versions going around. Those are illegal. If you download and install an IPB from a source other than IPS or one of their official resellers [there aren't many out there currently, AFAIK.] and IPS catches you, they will go to full extent of law I think in order to shut you down.

I hope this helped you. :)

That's not good, the last time I used IPB, they had the free version of there forum-ware, but charging isn't good!

I'd suggest using the latest version of phpBB, then again there are many other forum software(s) out there that are free of charge.

:happy:

Like he said, he doesn't want to use a forums software full of bugs and exploits. ;)

IPS's move to go to commercial is a good thing, depending on how you look at it.

People are only saying charging isn't good because they don't want to have to pay to support such a great product that Matt has spent months working on. :rolleyes:
