Remote Assistance to a win98 Machine?!!!?

Recommended Posts

You can also connected to any Terminal Services server, such as built into the Windows 2000 Server line.

Personally, I like the Remote Desktop Connection client better than the Terminal Services client as it allows you to share your clipboard contents between machines! Which is awefully handy when you want to copy and paste some code or a URL to/from the remote machine. :)

You can also download the Remote Desktop Connection client from Microsoft's web site... if you don't have a Windows XP CD handy (at least in comparison to your Windows 98 PC).

Yeah, netmeeting is almost as good, but the computer cant be used while you are using it remotly like with XP, and the computer you are controling can see what you are doing. Not really anything differant other then that :)

Dude you can paste text from one machine to another using terminal services. I do it all the time. Same client and everthing. Works from XP to 2000 and vice versa.

XP's remote desktop is much nicer than 2000's TS client, RD has sound and nicer colors, but that's also extra bandwidth and server load but having the option is always nice.

Dude Remote Destop and Terminal Services are the same thing. MS just enabled better color depth and renamed it Remote Destop. In all the registry keys its still refered to as TS. I am just saying that you can paste from one computer's clipboard to another wether or not you are using xp to 2000, 2000 to xp.

I know they are the same thing, but there are new features in RD like sound and drive mapping from client to server.

Stay connected affordably in 120+ countries/regions with your own lifetime eSIM! An eSIM is a digital SIM card. It's basically just mobile data. Once it's activated on your device, it can connect you to data networks in other countries – giving you an internet connection with NO roaming charges. With aloSIM, you can load prepaid eSIM data packages onto your phone, tablet, or computer. Your lifetime eSIM never expires, so it's yours forever and there are never any monthly charges. Good to know Length of access: lifetime For NEW customers only Instant digital redemption Once you add your $50 credit to your aloSim account you have up to 12-months to use it — after that your credit will expire When you pay for a data plan you also get a free phone number (via Hushed) for the same duration of your plan that was purchased - IE 7 day eSim plan gives you a free 7-day phone number Purchased coupon must be redeemed and used within 12 months This deal is not stackable (one offer per aloSIM account) A $4.50 data package will last 7 days The data DOES expire, and you WILL NOT have any leftover data for your next trip unless it takes place within the validity period. • WordArt was cool. We now have color fonts as a substitute although Word only supports COLRv0 and COLRv1 (Fraud OS 11 only). The OpenType SVG color font format needs to be supported by Office. Adobe's apps support it
