New Gameboy Micro is smallest handheld yet

Recommended Posts

I can't help but feel dorky when i play it too.? Its all big and bulky.? I wouldn't even dream of playing it in public.? Im looking forward to mario kart, but then again, why would i need 2 screens for that.? I just see useless stuff on the bottom screen most of the time.

Well it's not my problem that you have low confidence in yourself in public places. Handhelds are for gaming and not to make you look cool or whatever you damn kids think electronics will do for your peers these days.

oh brother

yikes that's pretty disgusting. nintendo is clearly getting desperate now...they're just recycling old stuff.

i watched a bit of the conference - the guy said something pretty pathetic along the line of:

"We now have 2 and a half handhelds versus your one [PSP]"

I know, we should start a thread for the iPod considering their is an iPod, iPod Shuffle, iPod Mini, etc. when they are essentially the exact same thing. Man is Apple pathetic and desparate...

i think the one thing that people might not like about this (the design is fine, i think) is that the display is pretty small. The screen on the SP is a bit wider than a GBA cartridge. Judging from Dazzla's pic, the screen on the GBA Micro is a good bit narrower than the width of a GBA cartridge.

On the other hand, Nintendo is simply pulling an Apple, and making a version of their product for everyone. Now they've got the classic GBA, the GBA SP, and now the GBA Micro for those that are looking for something tiny that can fit in their "tightest jeans pocket", to take a line from the article.

Saying that Nintendo is getting desperate or simply milking a cash cow is just showing bias. Like jmole said, if you're gonna bash Nintendo for having 3 GBAs, you've gotta bash Apple for having three iPods. You've all heard of 'To each his own' I'm sure...

Here's a size comparison, it looks freakishly tiny (it's based on the GBA having a 2.9" screen and the Micro a 2" screen, DPad and Buttons are the right size as well). I can't imagine this it going to be even remotely comfortable with anything approaching adult hands. But I'd love to be proved wrong, I thought the same about the SP:

i like it.

I mean before I jump to any conclusions (as many probably have already)

I want to wait and see the official specs.

Imagine if it could communicate with the DS, and you could download partial levels?

It'd be great to take to Uni rather than my big PSP or DS.

Or imagine if it could double as a mobile phone (ok this one is too drastic but imagine!)

Someone could mod one though ;P

with that old tiny nokia I think it was the 8210 or something like that. It was super tiny.

Anyway. dreaming. i'm dreaming.

oh and if it is cheap. you have to think about the people who can't afford a DS, or perhaps a parent who wants to buy something for their son or daughter but not something that would be a shame to damage.

I want it now!

Oh one more thing to add.

USE GOOD PLASTIC NINTENDO!

They all have different sizes, specs, and features. The GBA is pretty much the same thing in every incarnation.

:p not to be picky Oneill but

"Different sizes"

The GBA's are different sizes

"Specs/features"

They all have slight different specs. (e.g. no backlight, backlight, adjustable backlight)<---thats an example!

Or how about the customizable faceplats, thats a feature.

Probably will be way cheap too.

    • It is when it's a desktop in my house though for a PC that's lightly used and not really important when it is. If it was a laptop, it would be a different story. The real solution is varied and begins starting at post #22 in that thread.
