New Gameboy Micro is smallest handheld yet

Recommended Posts

Sorry I disagree witht he lack of vision comment, if it wasnt for there so called lack of vision i think wed all missing a plumber, nevermind a few other noteable greats.

Plus I would think the Big N`s vision was clear here...

DS - Our New Handheld

GBA/SP - Had there run DS is the new big bro

so what else can we cover / give a spin. Lets face it with a newer console out the older / latter int his case the GBA/SP will see sales plummet, but how about we re-position the GBA with a new model meant to make the Portable console more of a .... well Game and Watch style afair.

I like the idea of a tiny gagdet that,ll play these games.

No one ever complained whent he Mobile Phone got smaller, Ninty and many others see the GB as just that, its the evolution of the device.

I agree, I can't believe people are actually complaining that nintendo is giving you so many options in their handheld line. Different price ranges and targeted for each specific demography.

I bet if there was 3 versions of PSP, no one would have complained.

people who get angry at nintendo releasing more than one Gameboy just relax!

Lets put it this way, if they didn't release it you wouldn't be buying anything right? and since they did release it, you guys said you wont be buying it right?

so either way you're not losing anything.

so relax.

They all have different sizes, specs, and features. The GBA is pretty much the same thing in every incarnation.

Really? GBA came first with no back light or screen protector or rechargeable battery. Then the GBA SP came out with a backlight, screen protector and a rechargeable battery. They're not even remotely the same.

This is just a stripped-down GBA with a light (maybe a battery), and that's all they're marketing it as. Remember the pocket Gameboy?

Yes but they are still the same guts, they dont do anything different, they all still play GBA games talk about milking it.

To take a step back, outside of capacity and looking at photos (useless feature right there), all the iPods have the same guts (OS, menus, features), don't do anything different they all still play music.

It has rechargeable Lithium Ion battery :)

The back light screen brigthness is controllable and IGN already had an hands-on preview stating the screen is as bright as the DS screen, so this all good news.

What does Nintendo have to do to prove that they're supporting both GBA and DS?

They bring DS out people think GBA is getting abandoned. They bring out GBA Micro to basically prove it isn't and now people think they're abandoning DS (keep in mind the number of DS titles at E3 and the online service they're rolling out for the unit, sound's like an abandoned unit to me  )

ah well, no sense in posting my own hands on photos...they look exactly the same. it was pretty comfortable to hold, and very small! screen looked good, controls felt fine, nice and simple. i just didn't like the game that was on mine, some sword swinging guy...not my thing.

Because the PSP isn't 4 years old!

The Game Boy is reborn once again, as Nintendo today announced the Game Boy Micro, a stylish (and surprisingly small) retooling of the Game Boy Advance. Measuring 4 inches wide, 2 inches tall and 0.7 inches deep; and weighing just 2.8 ounces, the silver-clad Micro is probably the slickest -- or at the very least, most portable -- Game Boy hardware yet. Better yet, it will play all the GBA and Game Boy games currently handled by the GBA SP.

In addition to the small size, the Micro features a 2-inch backlit screen, swappable front plates, and screen brightness adjustment. Like the SP, the Micro includes a built-in, rechargeable battery - in this case, Lithium Ion.

"We're making the gorgeous Game Boy Micro for image-conscious folks who love video games, the ones who want the look of their system to be as cool as the games they play on it," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. "Because of its diminutive size and industrial-hip look, Game Boy Micro immediately identifies the person playing it as a trendsetter with discriminating style."

The Game Boy Micro is scheduled to ship this fall. We'll bring you even more on the system as more news comes in. Stay tuned

    • Did Labour lose big? They had losses there is no doubt. However let's look at the reality. The conservatives have 168 councils I believe. Labour have 113 and Reform...38. That's a lot of growth for Reform granted. But that is not a wipeout, Reform don't have the majoring in fact at 76 I believe the Liberal Democrats have nearly twice the councils Reform do. So I am thinking there is a lot more noise than signal going on here. Now then let's talk about the law. It's an age restriction. We do it for cigarettes, **** and alcohol. This idea that some kids will find there way around it so it's not worth even trying is really really sad. Hell we can't stop every murder. Should we stop trying there too? That is the logical conclusion.
    • A game not selling doesn't mean the people working on it did "bad work". It reviewed decently well. It was also on gamepass on release.
