i took a look, not bad for a small project.i build GUI's for NCN Software (although our graphical line has yet to be relased),we would be happy to help you guys out with the GUI,programming ect :) drop us a line.we are working on a chat program now and i could show you some concept pics if you need them.

Here we go again..... why don't you kids learn

Make something, keep it quiet, test it... and if it works release it.

Again you are trying to create a hype and we've all seen how those projects turn out.

All this bull**** about what the logo should look like, how the graphics should look like. It is irrelevant! Make a messenger that does what it is supposed to do and then start thinking about the looks of it.

The few people here that managed to really make something nice all finished up their software and THEN created a thread to publish it.

This is the next aerobrowser, nexus messenger or whatever......

Good luck with it and I can hope you can prove me wrong, but I doubt it.

WinMacLin's logo looks good :)

putting the text over the "sun" doesnt look so good..kinda looks out of place / doesnt fit right :/

I like WinMacLin's Logo too. but apparently it is not good enough. As Lead Designer, i'm calling a poll. It will last 24 hours please vote for WML's logo or against it.

'For' Or 'Against' It's Your Choice.

I vote FOR

Have to agree with Colin-uk here, it does not mater how nice the logo is if the actual application does not look nice people will not use it.

X fire the gaming client has a great logo but it looks rubbish (the actual client) people use it because there is not an alternative. With MSN clients there are so many to choose from on every platform imaginable that if your Messenger is not good enough / looks nice / easy to just do what you want to do (no bloat) then people will just use the other clients available.

I think picking the logo now is a good idea to get momentum but when it comes down to it you need to really concentrate on the coding of the app and getting it stable with good features.

Well sorry guys for making it look **** but i'm no ****ing gui designer, programmers who are brilliant artists are quite rare because the brain works in different ways.

Sorry I wasn't dissing it at all I cannot even get it to run to see what it looks like yet lol Work on getting it stable first all the nice pretty GUI effects can wait trust me.

Yeah I wasn't taking a stab at anyone I was just saying that I am not a good gui designer ... about the error I compiled using .net framework 1.1 and I am also running on Win XP MCE... If you are using the .Net Framework 2 beta then i'll need to get a dedicated builder for .net 2.0 cuz until it exits beta i'm not building for it.

    • Apple are scared of their customers! They have built a brand over the years of "it just works out of the box", but that slows innovation. Samsung's master stroke was the Galaxy Ultra: "Let's cram everything into one handset, make it so stupid only real nerds will love it, some of the features will work, some won't, but the audience will have such a high tolerance they won't care". Apple has no such device and so they are constantly worrying these days about the fallout of creating a new experience that customers might not like. I know it is often cited the reason they don't build a touchscreen Mac Book is they don't want to cannibalise the the iPad market, but I think it's equally cold feet after the criticism Microsoft receive trying to make a touch compatible desktop OS

    • So, an article that has nothing to do with Windows 11, still gets Windows 11 in the title and a build number as the picture? Dell have a buggy build of Support Assist HP have UEFI settings that need unlocking for the secureboot cert upgrade to take place.
    • What I can't seem to understand is that Google are paying SpaceX? Surely it would be the other way round, with SpaceX needing Google's datacenters etc.? Oh well, this level of money and power is way outside of my comprehension at the best of times.
