Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library, error

Recommended Posts

My computer has really been acting up these past couple of days, i get this annoying pop up every minute saying "runtime error! Program: C:\Progra~1\Messen~1\msmsgs.exe R6025 Pure Virtual Function call" and the title says Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

what do you guys think i should do, please help

btw its coming from Windows Messenger and i hardly use it....

I did a little more searching for this and might have found a workaround. Install Messenger Plus! (don't install the sponsor program when prompted). It won't solve the problem, but will handle the error so you won't have to see it. You can download it at http://www.msgplus.net

Do you happen to be running Norton Antivirus? If so, try this:

Open Norton Antivirus (Right-click on the Norton Antivirus icon in the System Tray/Notification Area (by the clock), choose 'Open Norton Antivirus'), click Options, then Instant Messenger then uncheck MSN Instant Messenger and click OK.

If that doesn't work then just reformat and reload. I'd bet real money that will solve your problem!
