Kontact is a planner also and will notify you, it is installed by default in Suse

If you use Gnome as your desktop enviironment then you might want to consider using Evolution as your To Do List manager as well as email, address book etc...

It integrates really well with Gnome and includes a nice feature whereby you can click on the clock in Gnome, and see your Evolution To Do List pop down where it can also be editied and everything's kept in sync.

I use kde, I felt like I was using windows 98 when I was using gnome.

I should be able to use gdesklets if I'm using kde?
