Controlling LED from JAVA Applet !

I have connected a LEDs to parallel port (8 Data OUT pins).... I have programmed VB & VC++ programs to control the lights from the LED, by sending data out to the ports. But then now I wanna do the same thing using JAVA applet, so that I may b able to control these LEDs from a remote machine.

How do I do this ??? Even if not an applet, any other web-based control would do....Please reply on how this can be implemented.

This reminds me of a really cool project which uses a java applet to control video cameras and messages to an LED screen.

The author is a friendly fellow, perhaps he could send you the source. I do know that he's written some low level code for sending the camera images via an old NE2000 network adapter.
