Backup Software

I'm looking for a backup software that can backup but can also do some of these

E-mail to confirm backup failure/success

Overwrite previous set of backup

Can be set to a schedule

Schedule can be run between a cetain periob block

Takes up minimum resources

Reliable

I'm looking to do full backup every week.

since I have specific partitions for my files, acronis true image is the best :) otherwise I might as well just copy and paste folders onto a rw cd.

Cobian Backup is free and very good. You can get it from http://www.educ.umu.se/~cobian/cobianbackup.htm

I use winrar (well rar.exe) with a batch file I wrote to do my backups which you can have a copy off if you would like?

I also have a windows script in the works but it is very crap at the moment as I have not had much time to work on it but I can let you know when its finished if you want (the main difference between the windows script and the batch file one is the windows script one also backs up registry data).

I would avoid Handy Backup/Platinum Backup, etc. They are all the same program and the company that makes it are dodgy as there seems to be a lot of legal issues with them. Apparently one company stole the other companies name, software, etc and are using it illegaly and because they are in russia they can't do anything about it (dunno how true that is) the weird thing is they are like 2 doors from each other on he same street in russia! Is very dodge.

I use Dantz Retrospect for data backup and Norton Ghost 2003 (home) or Acronis True Image (office) for HDD/partition imaging.

I just use that utility that comes with nero.

Acronis TrueImage - it doesn't get better than that. If you need to backup individual files simply copy them to CD-R(W) or USB Key, it's faster. Use TI as complete system backup/recovery solution, if you require one.
