Huy
I'm not sure but didn't they stop including MS JVM with XP SP1? You can always get Sun's JVM from java.sun.com which is version 1.4.2. (but the latest is 1.5.0 though it's up to you which one to use). I'd just stick with 1.4.2. Deanobear
You might be able to find a download of it somewhere by using Google. But MS stopped updating and distributing their version of java a long time ago, the last version for XP I think was included in the original XP release, but removed from SP1 onwards, Sun took them to court... you'd be better off with Sun java as it's been patched for latest security bugs, etc... Please don't do it in public, thank you. Sun's java has been exploited too BTW. MsJVM was pulled in the release of sp1a. Edited June 18, 2005 by Mr. Dick C. EduardValencia
i installed it,but WU prompted me to install a new version what's the difference between sun's (laggy crappy java) vs (MSJVM) (apparently insecure) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/333686-ms-java-virtual-machine/#findComment-586082294 Share on other sites
Huy
I don't find Sun's JVM to be laggy/crappy at all, but that's my opinion. Just give it a go, J2SE 1.4.2. You might find that the site you're going to just requires that you verify/accept the security certificate before it proceeds. A notification dialog usually comes up to tell you to accept the certificate (or to check it) before continuing. That's what happens with my bank's site. http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/downloads/index.html  Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/333686-ms-java-virtual-machine/#findComment-586082301 Share on other sites
