Take a look here at this topic added new mirror for downloading.

Thanks to AJ for hosting!!!!!!

Since the release of APXP August, there have been 5183 completed downloads, and over 766 GB of data transferred on the torrents alone!

I dred to think what the impact must've been on conventional mirrors!

When you add in AP2K, that takes the total bandwidth used to almost 1 terabyte

youve been reformatting because of that

dont worry about it.

if there was something there before, you probably selected a tweak that removed it.

the space remains because your start menu preferences have an option to specify how many recently used programs can go in the list to the left of it. that list is therefore holding the minimum height of the start menu at a constant value, therefore keeping the space you see.

so to get rid of the space, simply reduce the number of recently used programs, by right clicking an empty space on the task bar, select properties > start menu > customise > set the 'number of progrms to show on start menu' value, and apply.

hmm.. i've initially set it to 0. so it's not the problem of the 'number of programs to show on start menu'. i only installed the critical updates and came the error. btw, i'm using Windows XP SP1 =)

the next updates were suposed to be released on the 13th, and the new autopatcher releases upto a week after depending on how many new updates there are and how long it takes me to do everything.

however, now microsoft have suspended the new updates over a "quality issue", so i dont know when...

@Kaze, im glad youve solved it, however going back to a release a year old is hardly a good thing.

firstly, you should move up to SP2. there is pretty much absolutely no excuse not to do so now.

the current releases are all aimed at SP2, meaning, if run on an SP1 machine, there will be a huge number of updates missing that you really need.

i dont see the problem here using SP2 and all updates in the latest release.

try updating to sp2 and then use the latest release. if it still occurs, its most likely a compatability problem with your windows theme.

i really wouldnt sacrifice the security of your machine just to stop a slight space appearing on your start menu

@DeniZz, dont worry. there have been several large changes recently, and unfortunately a small number of problems exist in the august release.

i have found and fixed them all (hopefully) and you should find everything back to normal in the september release.

Great work! Thanks a lot, this great program just helped me make my WinXP install fast and easy!

If I may, just some feature requests:

- along with american flag screensaver, you could include Microsoft's EU flags screensaver

- include flash player

- I don't see a point in selecting delete of 'old' MS screensavers and wallpapers

But even as it is it's a real treat!

Thanks a lot!

1. Do you have a URL for the EU flag screensaver, as I'm really not aware of such thing!

2. Again, any URL for the IE Flash Player?

3. I'd agree, but some people seem to find it useful to get rid of the old screensavers and wallpapers. Doesn't hurt to have the option I guess.

haha.. cause my laptop doesn't support SP2. if i were to install SP2, my infrared won't be working properly. so i using SP1. i update with AP XP Aug'04 then i update with AP XP Aug'05 so i think it's alright?

btw.. i can just install and overlapping the older version right?

^ hmm, your laptops infrared comms wont work with sp2 ??

yes, you can use a newer version of autopatcher after an older one, however, thats still no good.

first, your missing all the new security benifits introduced with SP2.

second, your still going to be missing many updates, because you wont get all the SP1 updates after that aug04 release that dont apply to SP2 and so are not included in the newer release.

i dont see why your infrared comms wont work with SP2, if its just the driver, im sure a newer one should be available by now.

if its not as simple as downloading a new driver, your going to have to decide which is more important to you - a working infrared comm or security - because security is a really important matter, and your seriously lacking in it.

German version online since: 09/03/05 @

@Tarnatos,

You have to be patient before people find the way for downloading and it will take some time to for people know that AutoPatcher is also available in the German language.

It's the same for the Dutch release.

    • Hello, The Nvidia Founders Edition 3080 video card is approximately six years old, correct? Have you looked into whether replacement fans are available for it? Perhaps replacing those will improve cooling, especially when combined with cleaning the card's heatsink and replacing the thermal interface materials. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Hello, While ~104 GB of space may seem generous (at least compared to other e-readers which have 8-32GB), I feel at this price point the device should have a Micro SDXC card slot for expansion, particularly if it allows audio books to be installed and played. I hope to see more reviews of 6" phone-sized e-readers on Neowin in the future. It will be interesting to see how they compare. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Sandboxie Plus 1.17.8 / Classic 5.72.8 by Razvan Serea Run programs in a sandbox to prevent malware from making permanent changes to your PC. Sandboxie allows you to run your browser, or any other program, so that all changes that result from the usage are kept in a sandbox environment, which can then be deleted later. Sandboxie is a sandbox-based isolation software for 32- and 64-bit Windows NT-based operating systems. It is being developed by David Xanatos since it became open source, before that it was developed by Sophos (which acquired it from Invincea, which acquired it earlier from the original author Ronen Tzur). It creates a sandbox-like isolated operating environment in which applications can be run or installed without permanently modifying the local or mapped drive. An isolated virtual environment allows controlled testing of untrusted programs and web surfing. Sandboxie is available in two flavors Plus and Classic. Both have the same core components, this means they have the same level of security and compatibility. What's different is the user interface the Plus build has a modern Qt based UI which supports all new features that have been added since the project went open source. The Classic build has the old no longer developed MFC based UI, hence it lacks support for modern features, these features can however still be used when manually configured in the Sandboxie.ini. Sandboxie Plus 1.17.8 / Classic 5.72.8 release notes: Added added DisableCustomTitleOpt=[process,][y|n] to allow [#] sandboxie title markers on custom-titlebar windows (Delphi VCL, Qt, Electron) that were previously skipped to prevent DWM repaint CPU loops #5387 Changed updated bundled ImDisk driver to 3.0.2 #5419 Fixed fix Suppress logs for expected non-user SIDs #5422 SbieSvc.exe: SBIE2218/2219 error when run program as administrator #5417 fixed explorer.exe crashes in Application Compartment when Huorong Security is installed #5423 Download: Sandboxie Plus (64-bit) | 23.5 MB (Open Source) Download: Sandboxie Classic (64-bit) | 3.0 MB Links: Sandboxie Website | GitHub | ARM64 | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • Hello, Christian Maas' XVI32 is a nice (and very small) hex editor. Speaking of hex editors, many years ago a colleague and I who both worked at Tribal Voice managed to edit a copy of the company's PowWow instant messaging client to make it behave better now that all of its lookup servers and other server-side tech was gone.  The program didn't support NAT (RFC-3022 was introduced in January 2001, the same time Tribal Voice was shuttered), but it still worked okay if you manually set up port-forwarding on your router.  The server at http://powwow.jazy.net/ hosts a copy (usual warnings about downloading and running untrusted code from random internet servers apply). I occasionally use some tools like Funduc Software's Search and Replace and Application Mover when I need to make mass-edits to text-based files or move programs with a hard-coded installation directories, respectively.  When I need to figure out the exact LCD panel inside of a laptop, EnTech Taiwan's Monitor Asset Manager is my go-to tool for that purpose. JD Design's website (now hosted on github.io) has a number of interesting freeware and shareware utilities.  I used to use their TouchPro utility to set the file timestamps on software I was mastering to match its version number (e.g., version 3.00 of a program had all of its files dates set to 3:00AM, and so forth). Karenware has a number of interesting freeware utilities, too. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
