Optical mouse not working correctly

I've had this Micro Innovations optical mouse since about October, and now it keeps messing up. Now, most of the time it won't let me left-click, or it'll stay stuck on left-click (not physically on the mouse, it just does the action of left-click). And ever since I got it at least once a day it'll get all jittery and the cursor will move back and forth between the left and right top corners.

Is there anything I can do to fix it, or do I have to buy a new one? (The one I'm using now is an old ball mouse, which is more of a pain to use than I remember)

If I have to buy a new one, what's the best one I can get for under $20?

Logitech's MX518 is out of your price range, but you can get this MX510 shipped for $24.99. I know it might be a little more than you want to spend, but it's an extremely precise mouse.
