I have trouble using it, Style XP just hangs when i change to this style, why?

Which prog is best to use? Window Blinds or Style XP?

You change it in "Display Propertise". But you can also double click the .mss file to add it in to the windows appearance tab section. But! You need to patch that uxtheme.dll file.

Why use StyleXp when you can patch your uxtheme.dll? Style xp uses extra memory resources besides the theme service in xp. See:

Like others have said, uxtheme.dll patch is better. There are stickies for this forum that you can refer to.

You can use this VS in Windowblinds, but only after you convert it using Skinstudio (which may not do a 100% perfect job, but it works)

And screw StyleXP. Nothing more than a $20 ripoff.

any word on the trillian theme?

that's what i was wondering... armlann (i'm assuming) pulled all his/her work down from deviantart, so there isn't really any indicator of activity there... and even at gfxoasis, there hasn't been any kind of update in a week.

i'm one of those folks that refuses to switch to something until all my constantly-used programs will be themed in the same way, so i'm reeeeeeeally wanting the trillian skin to come out soon. :pinch:

Did I? Where did you see this, I'm only going to release the WB version when the final is out. Updating two versions of a theme is too much hassle when you have no time.

b0se: Have you thought about trying the longhorn fonts on XPMC? They look very, very good. A lot better than BitStream and Trebuchet. Consolas (the monospaced font) created for programming is super good.

Here's an article about them: http://www.poynter.org/column.asp?id=47&aid=78683

Goodies

- Winamp Classic (XPMC) By Jim-Phelps:

XPMC-prev.png

Download WA Skin

- Winamp on the way (thanks FrostedFlames)

- Trillian on the way

- Firefox on the way (thanks kgraphik)

- Styler Toolbar included (thanks kgraphik)

- Messenger:Mate included (thanks nemo)

- Fedora Core Icon set included (thanks Dazzla)

For the best experience...

* Tahoma 8 is *not* a good font to stare at all day while developing. Use either:

1. Trebuchet MS (Normal font) withClearType enabled> (as in screenshot).

or

2. Bit Stream Vera (Extra Large Font), as this is natively smooth (even on Win2k).

* Turn off start panel shadow (my computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Performance (Settings button) -> [uNTICK] 'Show shadows under menus'.

Now you can see the 1px gap between the start panel and taskbar. The shadows look naff anyway :?)

Details

XPMC b>anXPMC Induztryb> styles!

- Normal and Compact Start Panels

- Shellstyles, 3 font choices and a wallpaper

- Modifications will *not* be given release permission

- All contents are original

Drop the fonts in the zip into your Windows/Fonts folder.

Enjoy :?)

    • When you're in enterprise IT environment, you're kinda forced into it...otherwise I'm not touching any mail client for personal use.  I can't stand New Outlook. It's complete trash - half the features I need in (Classic) Outlook are just missing in New Outlook. I haven't talked to a single person who actually likes the new client.
    • I think it's cute that Apple is implementing their tools at precisely the same evolutionary level as other devices' tools. In other words, I see no innovation; it's "the same but different." "Hey Siri, help me write this document about shoes." Powered by Google. "Sure thing, while we're here, can I interest you on some Nike's? They're on sale at Target right now!"
    • Walmart was still selling the Apple Watch SE 2 on Black Friday in 2024. I got 1 for my mom and one for my dad for christmas.
    • But apple has ASSURED us that this is private. So, it's private. I expect the same "leeway" shown Microsoft to be reflected here.
    • ASUS ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE keyboard is 27% off on Amazon by Ivan Jenic The ASUS ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE is currently $159.99 on Amazon, down from $219.99. That's 27% off and $60 saved on a keyboard that combines retro and modern design, while being one of the most responsive and adaptable 75% boards available right now (purchase link down below). The ROG Falchion Ace comes with the HFX V2X magnetic switches that allow you to set actuation anywhere between 0.1mm and 3.5mm with 0.01mm fine-tuning steps. It also comes with Rapid Trigger, a feature that resets the key the moment you release it rather than waiting for a fixed reset point, which makes a noticeable difference in fast-paced games. And finally, an 8,000Hz polling rate should make the response time feel instant. The build quality is decent, with dense plastic and powder-coated aluminum, which is expected from a keyboard at this price point. There’s also the onboard adjustment wheel, which lets you tweak actuation and Rapid Trigger sensitivity without opening any software. For competitive gaming, the ROG Falchion Ace is hard to beat at this price. And those who appreciate old-school hardware, especially those white keyboards we’ve all grown up with, will likely also appreciate the looks of this keyboard. A carry case is included.
