I use Maxthon and like it very much.

I use it to go to Windows Update Site, just allow ActiveX for that site and close tab after your done and the next time you open a tab ActiveX is already blocked. ActiveX in Maxthon is great!

also on a side note my daughter found in you double click in the tab section you can open a tab and close a tab, great for fast open and close

If you have a scrollwheel you can click the scrollwheel to close a tab as well. That's what I've been using since MyIE. I also like how you can highlight a web address in a page and then just drag it to the address bar and it automatically goes to the site. I'm sure other browsers do this as well, but I think it's cool.

Just wish there were more updated Maxthon skins.

Actually you don't need to drag it to the address bar.

I just highlight and drag a small distance, release then the page opens.

Been using Maxthon since MyIE too.

Its great!

I used to use this for quite a while before making the switch to Firefox. I find Firefox a lot better, as it is more minimalistic. Maxthon has too much features and unnecessary buttons.

I second that about the buttons. Plus at the time I didn't use feeds much so having all that wanting to automatically add this and that drove me insane...

you could have disabled that.. anyways; i've used maxthon for over a year, since MyIE came out.. its great and to be honest, only crappy websites that are poorly coded crash maxthon. It has never crashed by becuase of any other reason.

I really would recomend this browser to anyone, even if they do use firefox :p

Wow, thanks for that. Much quicker :)

And how does Maxthon have too many buttons? The entire toolbar is customizable...I only have 3 buttons on my toolbar

To get my favorites I just move the mouse to the far left side...the favorites menu is on auto-hide. Can't see how it gets any more simple or functional than that.

They will argue that it is too hard to get the buttons off... But installing hordes of extensions... thats so much easier....

I hate fanboys!

Now I am currentley using firefox but have been considering getting maxthon for a while now and I was wondering are there are any extensions to make it work better? Also does the google toolbar work with it? Are there sites that dont allow maxthon? (like IE only sites)

Maxthon has 500+ plugins, though most users would probably be more than satisfied with what maxthon offers out of box.

Unfortunately maxthon is not compatible with the latest versions of google toolbars. It still works with the earlier versions of google toolbars. Yet maxthon has all but the site rank features of the google toolbar, which a plugin does provide.

All sites work in ie should also work in maxthon, including windows update etc. :)

Does it have the feature like FF to have multiple search engines at hand?

Soloredd, you can drag those toolbars together onto the same line. Just unlock them and drag the address bar to the top. It will take up less space.
