I can se u have a problem wit ur knee, but how well with biking work for u? if u hav no problem go ahead n bike its a real good alternative to jogging/running.

- Biking (MAINLY)

- Walking

- Crunches

- Sit-Ups

- Push-Ups

dont do alot all of a sudden start by lil n slowly progress ur way.

... once u hav lost the weight, a good idea after that would be to start weight lifting... then u wont have problems and u wont keep gaining weight, turn it all into musicle :p i lift weights alot, and it hasnt bought nothing but good to me... and once u pass the weight lifting thing and want something more... go for karate or Muay Thai like i did. so im pretty fit.

If you can, you may want to get rid of the traditional meal plan.

A regimen of 5-6 "mini-meals/snacks" (relative to activity) a day promotes a faster metabolism.

Otherwise, since you only eat at the beginning of the day, and the end. Your body may try to conserve instead of use.

I lost 2? stone with a rowing machine, which took about 5-6 weeks. By rowing for 45 minutes each day and cutting my calorie intake to about 1000-1500 I was able to lose weight very quickly (I've haven't rowed for a year and the weight hasn't come back). With reasonably paced rowing after 20-30 minutes you have used all your blood sugar, meaning that you are then just burning fat.

I don't know if you can because of your knee injury (should be okay because there isn't any impact) but it is the only effective way I have found to lose weight permanently and it was easy to motivate myself to keep it up.

where do you buy this rowing machine from

body weight exercises....

basically you dont need to use any equipment...just do 3 set of 12 pushups every day ...along with 4 sets of 20 situps

do this every day for a week - if this is too easy or too hard decrease or increase the repetitions in each set...

after the 1st week....increase the repetitions...after the 2nd week increase number of sets

basically you know your doing something when you break a sweat and you feel it..otherwise your not doing enough...

ggluck :pinch:

If you want to lose weight you have to be active. You need to do cardiovascular workouts. Never mind the weights. You need to do swimming or biking exercises. Also if you want to quickly shed a few pounds, wear a garbage bag while biking. You will sweat like a pig and lose weight fast. Being active and eating right is the only way to lose weight.

play lots of DDR, thats fun plus you lose alot of weight.

i stopped drinking cokes, now all i drink is like kool-aid or lemonade or somethin like that, and eat subway alot, and i started playing DDR and ive lost around 15 pounds in a couple months...

Hey, I used to weight 11.5 stone, I now weight 9.25stone. This is all mainly thanks to eathing healthily and doing the following routing.

15 crunches (so much more effective than situps)

15 leg ups (you life your legs up without moving the rest of your body, basically reverse situps)

then i get out the weights, using the 4.5kg weights

15 reps of lying on my back and pushing them up into the air and lowering them slowly (slow = more effective as it strains the muscles mroe)

15 reps of just weight lifts

then using the 2.8kg weights

15 reps of lifting the weights from down by my side to outstreched

15 reps of having them by my shoulders and pushing them above my head

then 15 pressups, holding at top and bottom for 3 seconds.

I do this one-two times a day, depending if I've been to work or not. Sorry for not knowing the proper names, never bothered to learn them hehe. I think this works pretty well to lose some weight, then get toned up. Otherwise find transport to that gym hehe :p

Skip cardio completely.

Focus on increasing muscle mass.

You'll burn more calories throughout the day with more muscle mass, than you would during the 30min Taebo session (or whatever's hip these days.)

Believe it or not, you still get a great cardiovascular workout when working with weights alone. Keep rest intervals short, lift till exhaustion, rinse + repeat.

Trial a cardio-free workout for a month, and then come to your own conclusions. Bear in mind that weights will improve your physique, prevent muscular dystrophy, and will earn you a few extra points with members of the opposite sex.

Only way without causing severe joint problems for the fatties amongst us is Swimming, uses evey muscle in the body.

Aerobics causes problems on the knees if you're a chubby.

A muscle stimulation kit like T.E.N.S. is a good idea also.

I saw 1 plate off and 1 bowl of, how about eating lots of fruit n veg and keeping your calories = to what a typical person needs, it's like 'how long is a piece of string'?; same as 'how big is a plate'?

    • My comment was intended to be humorous. I believe scientists already knew it since they comprehend relatively. Maybe I'm assuming that.
    • Surprise Execs are dumb. I hope the rehired engineers said were not coming back until we get 2x our salary.
    • Ford execs say they made a mistake when they replaced human engineers with AI by David Uzondu Ford recently announced that over the last three years, it's had to rehire about 350 "gray beard" engineers to mentor younger staff and reprogram diagnostic systems and AI tools that were failing to meet up to quality expectations. The company's VP of vehicle hardware engineering, Charles **** said that leaders overlooked the deep experience of veterans who survived many product cycles. **** admitted that simply replacing them with AI was a huge mistake, and that while AI is "a fantastic tool," it remains "only as good as the information you use to train it." The rehired engineers now run mandatory meetings to troubleshoot vehicles and reprogram automated engineering software and AI tools to prevent glitches before production. These technical specialists hunt for failure points before parts ever reach the plant floor, helping prevent the massive recalls and defects that previously cost the company billions as it aims to cut one billion dollars in expenses this year. In last year's JD Power Quality Survey, an annual study that measures the quality of a car during the first three months of ownership, Ford finished 10th among mainstream brands and scored below the industry average. But this year, JD Power ranked the automaker as the top mainstream brand, placing it above the likes of Toyota Motor Corp. and Honda Motor Co. Ford attributed this massive improvement directly to the expertise of these returned engineers. Ford's realization that AI cannot magically design and test quality vehicles without senior human oversight is just the tip of the iceberg. When Careerminds looked at companies that conducted AI-driven layoffs, researchers found out that 35.6% of those companies had to rehire more than half of the employees they previously fired. Another 32.7% had to rehire between 25% and 50% of them. In 2024, Sebastian Siemiatkowski, CEO of Klarna, proudly announced that its new chatbot was doing the work of 700 full-time customer service agents. As a result, the fintech company froze hiring and cut hundreds of positions. But by mid 2025, and into 2026, Klarna was scrambling to recruit human agents again because customer satisfaction had plummeted. It turns out, while AI is very good at answering basic questions like how to check an account balance, when faced with complex customer issues that require nuance, the thing usually resorts to the unhelpful, robotic corporate jargon we all know and love.
    • Free AI in IDEs is shifting to paid models Or you know, you could just learn to actually design and code apps, use frameworks to handle the repetitive parts and not use AI at all - and voila... free for life!
