Reinstate your original version of explorer.exe and restart windows. This is NOT an explorer replacement, yet anyway. Now just extract the files from the zip and run vista explorer. Think of it as an alternative file manager, for use when taking a screenshot, or where the tasks that you have to perform are relatively basic.

Good luck

So I've decided to try your Vista Explorer. To tell you the truth, its really slow (and it takes up 27 MB of memory, ahhhhh!) and...wow, and invisible part of the window (not the glassy part, 'cause on the screenshot I took, I used alt+print screen and there's some invisible portion of the window). Also, lets say the Vista Explorer window was active, but then I clicked on another window that covers this explorer up. I try to bring vista explorer back, but it wouldn't become active. The only way to get around this is to minimize the window via the taskbar and then "unminimize" it. This is still a great program! Keep up the good work :woot: You just need to allow maximizing windows, add title bar functionality, icons and buttons, and to make Vista Explorer run faster. Cool anyway because it takes saved passwords from Internet Explorer. :p vistaexploreredwinxie9oc.png

Once again... I cannot help you with CPU usage, memory, or the speed of this program. It all depends on YOUR hardware. If you have 256+ MB of ram, and a decent video card, this should work fine. But asking me to try and make this run faster on your computer is like asking Microsoft to try and make Vista run on a Commodore 64.

It can't happen.

As to your titlebar problem; I've never heard of that before, but I DO know that it's almost completely tansparent in the middle of the window... try to use the outside corners.

First of all, hats off for thinking about it and getting this done. I know this is WIP and you still have a long way to go.

However, I am sure some constructive criticism is in order. I got a decent pc, p4, ATI 128 card and 2gb of ram, and with this config, I feel the app is a bit unstable/slow when it comes to refreshing content.

I am sure you have lots planed ahead for this app, keep adding more features and make it as light as possible?..gr8 job.

    • I do not really see the need in Promoting it, at least not outside the EU where they have the prompt asking which browser you want to use. For the rest of us its pre-installed and just there. why advertise it lol.

    • Thanks, but the auto refresh of ads is something I can't change.. it has been this way even when we worked with Ziff Davis years ago, at the least the refreshing of the ads no longer messes with the page at all. Also it is comical when I see an ad I want to click on or view, and then it refreshes before my eyes Lol. Btw I do not click on ads to generate revenue, just the ones that appeal to me, like when I am looking for a new wardrobe and then an ad appears for a sale on something local to me.
