[Photography] Inertia and movement

Question

You know the drill, dont come here to flame :)

Part 1 - The inertia of shame

There it is, in peace, unamovible, inert. Standing pleased in its throne in the heart. With its fragile body and his mask of cloth, Representing the humanity, seeing us all.

shamee1.jpg

Part 2 - The movement of shame

Now it's moving. The shame of losing, the shame of missing, of seeing yourself defeated, of dying in someone's mind like you never existed. shame moves and we cant stop it, only if it wants.

Not flaming, you're a very talented photographer.  I just feel that most of the stuff I've seen you post is very samey - no diversity or added creativity. Sorry :/

What its creativity and what standards are dictated for it?

And, in the same topic, what it is diversity? what it is originality?

The time you say "no added creativity" you are implying that I take the concepts from somewhere else. But I do not. If I create the concepts and imaginery in my mind then... that its not creativity?

the concept is great, but the shots are too straight-forward, IMO.

What do you mean by that?

Hope you guys dont take it as I am mad. I am not, when I comes to photography I take comments very seriously so I act very serious as I try to understad your points.

it's much too chewed-up and presented.

i like to analyze artistic photography, and there's not much to work with with this piece. too much is hidden, and the stuff we do see, you previously set the grounds for, so it's already analyzed. i'd prefer if you didn't say nothing at all, and left us just with the title. and even then, the picture is pretty much straight-forward. plus, it's black and white --and while i enjoy b&w thoroughly-- i think it kills the detail in this case. you could've worked with some bluish or red hues, to liven it up.

just my thoughts, really. :)

Actually I have to agree that the last set you made were better for the following reasons:

The pictures were more interesting. I'm not saying this set isn't good but in this set, the appearance is just a guy on a black background. Now a lot of it is deeper than just the appearance but I feel that your previous set had exciting and different backgrounds and had more to it. You had a more interesting theme to it.

Sorry if I'm not making much sense :(.

ok this is the internet...

but if it was a 20/50 meter street poster it would have some effect

as would everything else

yet there is alot of silence in your images

in a place such as this

breath

images should not require description

you have a tendency which i like to hide the face

which in some cases is smart but the bag over head thing is...done... um..to be positive..amnesty international - actually maybe they would be interested...

if it is 2005 - which it is - personality and individuality are a must in a society dominated by consumer generalisation - it is the personal, the weird quirks - I /you have that give us identity - yet you chose to hide yet show in a outdated manner. Where is the you? Where is character of the person you photograph?

your mythology in your work is evident - dramatical yet superficial - why you hide? what have you suffered that you keep making these pieces so far away?

there are countless of images - countless of the human body in all styles forms lights concepts - on the whole the work (+ logo + sig bottom right)

i am amazed that you, with this knowledge still continue in this fashion, which is not 2005.

and it is your persistence which impresses me, but above all that you post your work on this type of (total noob non l33t @rt) enviroment (aka forum) which makes your work great - and that is where i find the personality in you, whether tragic or happy - which gets viewed by countless peopleand a 2 second glimpse ads some life into the chaos of the web.

a smilie has personality too  :)

IMO you are underestimating the meaning, since yes, I left some grounds for it but not the whole picture.

Adding a background here would defeat a certain porpuse I intended in the overall meaning.

Great post, let me answer this:

1) Its not a bag. Its a cloth mask I did. Thanks to the small resolution you cant see the details but it has eyes that are closed (shut) with needles and locks

2) I always tend to hide the face because the same reason I prefer to takes pictures without clothes. When you take away the cloths and the face of a human what its left its a representative of the whole humanity. You took out the superficial style, ergo the nationality, the age, maybe the ideology. Thats what I always want to show with my work. A sense of universality.

There is something curious in the world of photography. Arrange a concept, wgatever you want, the use a model with black clothes = gothic or industrial picture, change the model's clothes for pink but keep the background = fashion picture, change the clothes again = another kind of picture and so on.

So my intention by removing clothes and face its to show a representation, and abstraction of humanity, not an individual. I really support individuality (That its why I really oppose many social theories like modern anarchims or marxism) but my work its not for emphatise individuals, but the entire human genere.

Hope it makes sense.

3) Agreed, the style has been used before. But originality doesnt exist anymore, the best option we have its to create and regreate using our criteria.

4) To be honest I dont care if my style its not "2005" (whatever that means). Its mine. I dont want to please the trend.

5) I post my works in many places with many kind of people, so I think its unfair what you said about me taking advantage of the enviroment.

I will wait for your reply :)

Yeah I understand that for this set it would but I'm saying in general, I prefer your photography that has more than just a deep meaning.

    • The current Statcoungter desktop numbers has Google Chrome increasing it's market share this past year and currently commanding 75% share. Everybody else is just making up the numbers with even MS Edge losing 3% this past year and has dipped just below 10% share which is staggering considering it's default on every Windows deviced purchased. If these numbers are correct that terrible Edge number is both devastating and embarrassing for MS especially when you add in the terribly low Bing market share. This leads me to ask a couple of questions as the default browser holding just less than 10% market share seems really weird. It used to be that all Chromium browsers were being counted as Google Chrome in some cases.  Is this still happening? Do these high Google Chrome numbers contains some Edge user numbers?
    • Yeah, all web browsers seem to have some junk in them these days. The regular Brave browser has a lot of unnecessary stuff in it, similar to Microsoft Edge, so I don't see any benefits of using Brave over Microsoft Edge if you already have Microsoft Edge fully set up with adblockers and that. The cleanest or best free browser outside of 'Microsoft Edge' I’ve tried so far is 'Opera Air'. It still has some bloat, but nowhere near as much as Brave browser, for example. I also really like the web browser called 'Floorp' that is based on Firefox. I have a system wide Adblocking program for Windows 11 that doesn't just blocks ads in the the web browser, but over the whole thing. I don't really need a web browser with an inbuilt adblocker because of that.
