Network doesn't show networked computer

Recommended Posts

Yes everything is fine. I can go on-line, I can still use "GO>Connect to Server", I can access this Mac from other computers....

It's just that it's showing a list of folders instead of the normal content for the Network icon. I trashed the 3 folders, it asked me for the password. It's now empty but still no regular content....

:(

    • Microsoft released Windows 11 KB5062839, KB5063689 setup and recovery updates by Sayan Sen This week Microsoft released new dynamic updates for Windows 11; updates for Windows 10 were not released this time. For those who may not know, dynamic updates bring improvements to the Windows Recovery in the form of Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) updates, also called Safe OS updates, as well as to the Setup binaries in the form of Setup updates. These Dynamic Update packages are meant to be applied to existing Windows images prior to their deployment. These packages include fixes to Setup.exe binaries, SafeOS updates for Windows Recovery Environment, and more. Dynamic Updates also help preserve Language Pack (LP) and Features on Demand (FODs) content during the upgrade process. VBScript, for example, is currently an FOD on Windows 11 24H2. Both setup and recovery updates were released but only for version 24H2 and previous versions did not receive them. The updates also applies to Windows Server 2025. The changelogs are given below. First up we have the Setup update: Up next, we have the Safe OS recovery update and unlike the last time, Microsoft does not note any specific fix on this one as the general changelog is back. It writes: Microsoft notes that the Recovery updates as well as the Setup updates will be downloaded and installed automatically via the Windows Update channel. You can also avail them manually on Microsoft's Update Catalog website: KB5062839, KB5063689.
    • Weird, are you criticizing Linux? Shame!!! You're no Linux user if you do that, or isn't that what you told me in the other article about Linux? 😅
    • Uh, no, like @Chugworth has already said, Windows itself doesn't have this, it's the bundled printer software the one with it.
    • 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣, you're either a very naive person or a world-class troll! Neowin itself promotes those types of keys all the time, you... naive individual. Is this your first time here? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Again, adults are talking here, buddy, go play with your toys in your room... PS: "but you don't know that"? What? Can you even understand what are you writing?
    • You don't even know me and you're already swearing that you have been a Linux user for "longer than me" 😅. And how would you know that, by the way? And yes, I can speak my mind and say whatever the hell I want, even being a Linux user. Linux is great and all, but it isn't for everybody yet, especially if you're into MMO gaming and/or use specific professional software. And no, not everything works perfectly out of the box on Linux, some stuff doesn't work at all, and for the majority of users out there, that's a no-go. And don't you dare say that they don't want to learn, because that's true, they don't want to, because they are normal users, not tech enthusiasts. Open your eyes, 99.99% of people out there simply don't care about any of this.
