Having trouble making XP Boot disk

Recommended Posts

My problem lies with the "microsoft corporation.img", I simply dont think I have it on my version of XP Pro. I have tried searching for different file names such as dell.img or Acer.img but I am certain I dont have it because the disk itself does not boot when I restart the computer with CD drive as 1st boot.

I have already integrated SP2 with the original files on my copy of XP using AutoStreamer. I just need the boot files to make it install from reboot.

If anyone can help me locate the files so i can download them I need or better still send them I would be most grateful.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply Skyfrog, but that tachteck site seems not to be working, but im guessing it states ISObuster to be used to extract the boot sector. I've tried using this tool but to no avail, i've tried all the directories.

Is there any other way to extract the file apart from ISObuster?

OK, I have resolved the problem now, but am annoyed to the fact that all I needed to do was burn the ISO created by nLite onto CD-R instead of CD-RW, outta sheer fustration I thought just **** it i'll waste a CD-R if I have to and to my surprise the CD Booted from BIOS.

I don't get it though, a lot of people I suggest burning onto CD-RW to test it, I tried using 4 diffrent knds of CD-RW prior to using a CD-R. I'm sure now that the ISO created by AutoStreamer would of worked too if I burned it on CD-R.

Anyways i'm happy with the results and I recommend nLite SlipStreaming software as its got heaps of functionality.
