counterstrike......how do u disable vsync to get higher fps?

someone said if i disable it my fps would increse a bit

disabling vsync makes the image distorted. You might only squeeze and extra 2 fps or so too from my experience.

distorted eh, i see no problems getting rid of vsync, 2 fps you say? methinks not

Don't have to turn off vsync to get 99fps or higher, just type in the console ~ key

fps_modem 100

or whatever you want, and YES turning off vsync may cause some distortion, personally I find it looks and feels alot smoother with vsync on, just depends if you have a good enough monitor to support high refresh rates at high res -- if you have a small 15 or 17" or a crappy 19" you may want to turn vsync off to get the desired frame rates you want at high resolutions.

Yeah I SAID modem, maybe if one of you actually read the commands for the game you would know what to do instead of asking here :p

Fps_max = Universal

Fps_Modem = Internet Games

FPS_ LAN = Lan games

either way, the both work the same way, been playing counter-strike since before they added the fps_max command so i always had fps_modem in my script for online play.
