[Rel] Black Dashboard, Deskband, Now Playin'

Recommended Posts

These are the Samurize configs I've been using lately. You may have seen them in my July and August desktop thread posts. I've been getting several requests to share them, so here they are.

There are three Samurize packages. If you have trouble installing them, you can rename them to *.zip and unzip them.

Black Dashboard

Deskband

Now Playin'

Here are the two configs in action:

*UPDATE...

Nforce.nl changed their site a bit, and so the scripts need to be updated for the NFO News portion of the config to display properly. I've attached a zip file with the updates. Put them into your Samurize\Scripts folder.

Thanks for the comments.

To can change the options for the CD covers, follow these steps:

- open the config editor

- select the album cover meter ("meter 24")

- under Source, click on Global Settings, and the AMPI Plugin Configuration dialog box should pop up

The AMPI plugin has a few methods of finding album covers. Firstly, it can be set to search online to download the covers as you play songs. Second, using the version of the plugin I have, you can use embedded cover art (in the tags). Thirdly, you can have it look for a cover in the same directory as the song you are playing. Choose your method, and set the options accordingly.

I have AMPI set up to NOT download covers from the internet, because I have my music stored in one location, with different folders for each artist and album (iTunes takes care of this). I have a cover file in each folder called folder.jpg or folder.png, and AMPI finds these and uses them for the display.

    • This is listed as a preview in WU for me. I usually don't grab them as previews; what's your opinion on it so far?
