Contrary to a common belief, the Burj al-Arab is not rated as the world's only 7-star hotel but rather as a 5-star deluxe hotel. The maximum possible rating for a hotel is five stars.

its just a marketing ploy to say its 7 star.

Be prepared for lots of building work! Half of these buildings aren't even started or finished yet. My gf enjoyed her holiday there this year though.

Dubai is on a tight schedule to finish these buildings on time iirc. The first attraction was for it's oil, when that dries up, they will need all the tourists they can get to finance all this spending.

The Burj Al Arab is among three 7 star hotels, two of which are in Iran (Kish).

also who told you that Dubai has become rich from japan, china and india??

there is a migrant workforce in Dubai which consists of Indians and Pakistanis because there arnt enough locals to do the lower class jobs. Other than that there isnt heavy investment from india, china, and japan.

Iranian investments in dubai come to more than 4 billion dollars a year which is around 13 percent of investment in Dubai.

also you pointed out that they are building a second palm island, but actually they have started the third and largest one. www.thepalm.ae

as a matter of fact dubai's oil production is not very high, especially compared to their consumption. this is the primary reason why Dubai was forced invest heavily in tourism and service sector businesses, which proved successfull.

My mistake, I got my info a little confused :p

Dubai seems to know what they are doing. They have little to offer in terms of culture (in comparison to places like Egypt, Rome, etc), so they create some of the most impressive man-made items ever built to rival them - in essence they are aspiring to be a modern day Egypt.

It will be interesting when these projects are finished to see them and I hope they continue with these amazing projects.

I don't know if in dubay or another arambian country, But I hear that the people there use mercedez benz as the standard car, I mean, is like to say that the mercedez benz there is a toyota or Honda in USA, do u understand guys what I mean? apparently the people there have a lot of money and use only these cars :o :o

Its just something that people say but is far away from truth!

You can see all types of cars in Dubai.. and in the rest of the Arab cities!

in some other forum (Big Soccer I think) I read that people of Dubai dont have to work and that everything they need for is covered by the government.. Including food!

Don't believe all what you hear/read!
