I agree that the context of this story is being given from only one side and there could be myriad reasons why his account got banned (and I think it's a stretch to imply as this story and others do, that it's simply because he's called out Microsoft on behalf of LibreOffice, which they barely know exists), but being told to provide a phone number that then doesn't work with no alternative and having to sign in to get to support? Come on, that's garbage. I deal with Microsoft "enterprise" support in my day job and it's some of the worst I've ever dealt with. And that's what supports business users, where Microsoft makes most of their money. You can only imagine how terribad the support for their free services is. Andas someone who has had to help customers recover Microsoft accounts, yes, it often is that bad. Even if the guy is making up why his account got banned, there's no excuse for support this bad and MFA systems this unreliable. -

Haha, and this is the same skynet account they're desperately forcing on new PC buyers, one that can just be seized without warning nor consent. Looking forward to the day a major lawsuit follows and makes the microsoft 1998 antitrust case look like childs play, 'cause they really deserve it... -

And LibreOffice (which I think is a perfectly fine suite) is no threat whatsoever to Microsoft's Office business. They make their money from businesses and no customer of notable size is going to switch to LibreOffice. -
