Dungeon Siege II Save Game Feature - What up?

Recommended Posts

In Dungeon Siege and Dungeon Siege LOA, you could save the game at multiple points with multiple names and also load any of those multiple saves back up if you wanted. Is it true that you cannot do that with the new Dungeon Siege II?

yes, its true. On Ds1 and LoA, it was posible to use your chars for Mp and Sp. What most ppl did was use the cheats to get everything maxed out and then use them online. Also, the items could be dupped by simply coping and pasting the save game to someone elses pc. When you load up on Ds1 and Loa, it loads up in the exact place.

However, in Ds2, there is only 1 options and its simply the 1 saved, the last time u saved it. When u load the save game on ds2, u start at the city and not the exact place u saved it as.

Oh man. This sucks. I would never cheat online - heck I don't even play online, but if I can't save multiple saves and selectively recall / reload from those save points at the precise spot where I saved, I'm not sure I want to purchase the thing.

Wow. What a total freakin' bummer.

One thing I liked about Dungeon Siege and Dungeon Siege LOA was the feel of a seemless continuing story. You picked up right where you left off. If I have to go back to that hub city thing every time I save or die or what not, that is going to be a huge turn-off.

Sometimes I'd save just before I try some daring strategy or weapon and party variations, and if it failed, I would just reload from the previous save and alter that strategy or go a different route or something. Now it sounds like there is no way I can do that. :(

Crap, man! Why'd they have to go and screw that up?

They really changed a lot things in DS2 that didnt need changing (well, at least so far as I can tell from the demo).

Seems so. I don't think I'll be purchasing this one after all. I was really, really looking forward to it, but not with these changes.

I used to be able to set each person to Attack Freely, Defend only, etc. I used to be able to group parties in different formations and all that - remember the green and dark interface in the lower right corner? That was awesome.

I could grab say the 2 members of my party who are the weakest and put them on DEFEND ONLY and then have them form behind say the other 3 and put those three on ATTACK FREELY so that they would get most of the action and protect the others.

Now I have no idea how to do that at all - or even if it can be done. :(

OK... so I'm not the only one with that problem - honestly? it makes me want to stop playing the damn game

This is an horrible horrible feature .. I dont understand what kind of developer added that its like it was done in purpose to annoy people, just plain annoying

ive been playing it now for last few days , i mean the first time i played i was like ohh this isnt that great after all but now im kinda addicted, i really like the way it tries to feel sorta mmorpg and give u a bit of freedom but on hte other hand keeps u on track so u dont get to far off track
