People That Download Movies

Recommended Posts

Well, It depends, I have read a few cases of people getting caught by Warner Bros. The companies are getting smarter, they post fake torrents on popular torrent sites. TorrentSpy for example, has alot of these fake torrents that are just traps for people to fall into. If you downloaded from one of these torrents you're as good as dead =P.

You are far safer using newsgroups to download movies, etc. than using P2P applications. News servers don't track what you download, only what you upload (and some don't even track that). Generally only the uploaders are subject to getting caught.

The thing you have to ask yourself is that knowing that there is even the slightest possibility that you might get caught and subsequently have to go to prison or pay a huge fine or both, is it worth it? Yeah, sure, "everyone" does it and out of "everyone" a small minority get nailed for it, but, I guarantee you that every one of those that do get nailed for it will tell you that it's just not worth the hell your life will be if you fall into that minority. So, is it worth it to risk everything you own, your friends, your family, career, etc. just to download a movie?

I believe I am God, so that gives me the right to download movies. Everyone else, however, should pay.

They are cracking down on movies, just like music a year ago. If you use an open torrent site, you're more likely to get caught. However, I personally use a private torrent site + ftp, so I'm less at risk. I don't steal from MPAA though. I'm basically ripping Blockbuster off, because I download a movie, watch it and then delete it.

i dunt need to dl movies, i get them free to rent from blockbuster, pays to have family who run a store, so i get free rentals, but music on the other hand is baddd... dont dl moveis movies more likly to get u busted anyhow, music they usually make u either pay a fine, or warn you, ive gotten 2 warnings so i stopped dlin music till like next month lol

Didn't realise that Warner brothers made Lesbian porno.

They aint interested in people that download the odd thing, they are only interested in people that run hubs and allow files to be downloaded from them 24/7/365 etc...

No-one is doing 'Bird' for 2 years for downloading 1 poxy film.

i dont download movies often, maybe once every few months, but I always go to the movies theathers to watch movies, like once a week or so, i have a collection of tickets of all the movies ive seen... if i saved those 7 - 10 dollars wow ill have a very big sum now :)

and this is funny, the other day my friend had an accident (not funny) and the cop said he downloads from limewire, and he said do you know thats illegal and the cop said he didnt know lol

The sentence wasn't for downloading, it was for his choice in movies!

 I have downloaded movies before, because where I live there is not really a theater close by and it does not ever play independent films....If I like the movie I will buy the dvd though....I never keep the downloaded copy and toss it after one view..I know I know it is illegal. But for some movies there is no other way I will be able to watch it unless it is a year later on dvd :pinch: I wish there was on online site that you could watch movies still in the theater...but you know crazy people who want to get something for free would crack it

U know, I have downloaded movies - in total probably about 7/8? Yeah that's about what I can count.

Of those:

5 I had seen at the cinema and got bored of waiting for a DVD release

3 I bought on DVD anyhow

2 were so poorly encoded I just deleted them and waited for DVD

I'm REALLY hurting this million $ industry!

I've had at least 2 fake torrents, I even had a fake one for linux??? I mean WTF? At least give me a real linux one, i can see that trying to download other things are bad. I don't download anymore since kazaa failed.

You can get in trouble for uploading, providing the file for others. But as far as I know, know one has gotten in trouble for downloading. Its the one that has certain files available for upload that the RIAA/MPAA tracks and prosecutes. Thats why during these court proceedings the RIAA will say "We tracked them and they had ********** these files for uploads", usually alot of them (hundreds to thousands) and theb they will name them. As for downloading, I've known friends that have been caught and warned, but not prosecuted.

I concur good doctor. It would be a waste of Legal Fees if they persecuted small sharers. They want groups like BRUtUS and other DVD-RIP groups as they are the people that put it up. The sites like Suprnova were the ones that they like to attack.

    • Onkyo Dolby Atmos AV receivers are really solid deals by Sayan Sen Recently we covered great deals on several soundbar models from the likes of Sony, JBL, Samsung and others for really good prices (the lowest in several months). Aside from that we also reported on the Edifier S3000MKII, a hi-fi two-way bookshelf monitor that's available for only $800. Today we bring a list of AV receivers from Onkyo that are available at great prices including the Onkyo NR7100, RZ30, and 8470 (purchase links under the specs table down below). The Onkyo TX-NR7100 and Onkyo TX-RZ30 are both 9.2-channel AV receivers designed for immersive home theater setups but they occupy slightly different tiers within Onkyo’s lineup with the RZ30 positioned as the more advanced model. The TX-NR7100 is a THX Certified 9.2-channel receiver offering up to 100 W per channel (8 ohms, 2 channels driven). It supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and IMAX Enhanced formats, with flexible configurations such as 5.1.4 or 7.1.2 speaker layouts. A key highlight is its built-in Dirac Live Room Correction which should help optimize sound based on your room and its acoustics. In comparison, both models share several core capabilities though the RZ30 is geared toward enthusiasts seeking more precise calibration and system flexibility, while the NR7100 is positioned as a slightly more accessible, value-focused option with strong all-round performance. The technical specs of the RZ30 and NR7100 9.2 AVRs are given in the table below: Specification Onkyo TX-RZ30 Onkyo TX-NR7100 Power Output (FTC, 2ch driven) ~100 W/ch (8Ω, 20Hz–20kHz, 0.08% THD) 100 W/ch (8Ω, 20Hz–20kHz, 0.08% THD) Dynamic / Peak Power 9 × 170 W (6Ω, 1kHz, 1% THD, 1ch driven) 220 W/ch (6Ω, 1kHz, 10% THD, 1ch driven) Frequency Response 5 Hz – 100 kHz (+1/-3 dB) 10 Hz – 100 kHz (+1/-3 dB) THD 0.08% 0.08% Room Correction Dirac Live (full bandwidth) Dirac Live (with AccuReflex support) Immersive Audio Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced Speaker Layout Support Up to 7.2.2 / 5.2.4 / 9.2 processing Up to 7.2.4 / 5.2.4 / 9.2 processing HDMI Inputs / Outputs 6 inputs / 2 outputs (eARC) 6 inputs / 2 outputs (Main + Sub/Zone 2) HDMI 2.1 Support 8K/60, 4K/120, VRR, ALLM, QFT, DSC, eARC 8K/60, 4K/120, VRR, ALLM, QFT, DSC, eARC Video Formats HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HDCP 2.3 HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HDCP 2.3 Streaming / Network Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Bluetooth, DTS Play-Fi Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Bluetooth, DTS Play-Fi Get them at the links below: Onkyo TX-RZ30 9.2-Channel AV Receiver: $797.00 (Sold and shipped by Electronic Expo) Onkyo TX-NR7100 9.2-Channel AV Receiver: $699.00 (Sold and shipped by Adorma) Onkyo TX-8470 2 Ch Stereo Receiver: $449.00 (Sold and Shipped by Adorma) Good to know This Amazon deal is U.S. specific, and not available in other regions unless specified. • A different thing with Russia. When you say is it better, depends on things. It is better that we don't have the E.U making rules and laws that have nothing to do with them. Is the trading part better? No, that is really mucked up, but then we knew that was going to happen and we would have make agreements, like we do with other parts of the world. Freedom of movement is certainly better, but could be improved, we still need more control over our borders. do you live in the U.K?
    • So what am I quoting from them? I never listened to what Farage or his cronies said. I wanted the U.K to leave the E.u years before the referendum and it had nothing to do with Farage and his cronies. So what country do you live in? Did we work much better together? We were always at logger heads with the E.U because we disagreed with them so much. Maggie was always on at them. I would have thought the E.U was glad to get rid of us as we stopped the integration or made it a two tier. Now without us they can integrate more. I would not have voted out if it was just a trading block and we can still work together on somethings.
