It basically was just a facelift with a few tweaks. Don't get me wrong, the tweaks were all good, but Vista was a massive effort over XP, Windows 7 was very minor in comparison.
After 4 years, windows 11 its still a mess, it did improve with the latest patch 24h2, but usability wise windows 10 its faster, less bugs, more stable and more productive. Things like context menu, start menu and taskbar are things that microsoft its "fixing" little by little, they added no combine option 22h2 but thats it, the start menu its getting better but again compared to 10 or 7 its just worse that like 8 we have to depend on a third party app like start11 or open shell. to have a usable start menu. more mouse movement and more click for one thing that it was 1 click before. thats why people is resistant to move to 11.
I contacted 0patch and I'm trying to work with it, this is new to me, but I'll figure it before EOL and then get a 5 year patches for € 125.
My acer laptop is 6 years old but still going strong, I can maintain it myself; with the help of IFixit, Acer Aspire 7 fully loaded
Since win 95 I never used system sound; only the first time to check if the sound card works; after that no annoying click sounds and whistles on every key stroke or every notification. That's why I have my taskbar on top, you'll notice the notification center way sooner at the top right than at the bottom right.
