How to find your Key Code

My friend is going to reformat his pc, but his dad has taken his Win XP cd away with him, which on the disc has the keycode written on it. is there a way, before he formats to find out his Key Code?

And also, with Winxp, how would you reformat it?

here you go, use this program to recover the install key

if you know some one that has a copy of xp pro or home. just use that and use your key

obvously use a xp pro licence key with a xp pro cd. and xp home key for xp home cd.

it dosnt matter if the cds are not offical ones. because your friend has a licence to use windows xp. hope that helps.

Just boot from the WinXP cd and it gives you formatting options.
