maybe instead of le4 being kinda based on media center themes go back to like it was before and the taskbar could be completely blue instead of having light blue and dark blue and that button looks very good.

I recently downloaded Cheetah DVD Burner and noticed that some of the Settings menus are all black. This is only happening to me when I use LE4. All other styles including LE3 display correctly.

Can anyone else verify this? It could be something on my end causing this problem.

Thanks.

Anyone know how I can get the start menu "slim" again? I remember having only My Computer icon next to the programs list, but now I have My Computer icon and text that says My Computer?

Display Properties > Appearance tab > Font Size > Choose: Compact Startmenu

WOW! driz you ahve the exact same set up as me on my desktop! Everything from the start button to the rainlendar! just the wallpaper is different and ur lclock's configured a slightly different and you have an msn bar instead of a google bar! hahahah! anyways to address ur problem (i had the same), it was concluded that that's the way it will always appear no matter what, it's how windows was set up, this is better than le3's setup, just take a look and compare the two, this one is definitely better. theres no other way to fix this and em3 has allready addressed that, but he made it look dayumn good nevertheless.

@em3 and anyone else with the necess skills

check the screenshot, please, can that be implemented in 4.5 or a mod made for release?

It's a limitation of the skinning engine. Nothing can be done about it; try experimenting with other VSes and you'll get the same result.

And yes even KoL's VistaXP exhibits the same behaviour. I'm not so sure if the Windowblinds port has this problem.

what you talking about??? no it doesn't i just used KoLs and its solved the problem practically!!! yes their is a slight line of gray on the left due to this error but apart from that its prefect!

it looks much better than having a massive white space like le4 has???

i think it should be at least tested out and a screenshot shown to see what peoples opinions are!!!

i think you should organize your start menu into subsections.  consider that bug the incentive.

And here I thought I was the many few who did this....

It's makes for a cleaner setup.

Not much good their, cause i;d just have a **** load of sub's i have like hundreds of programs installed and all relevant and needed.

I dont get the problem, what i'm suggesting aint impossible, i've seen in done, just not in le4 so why (AS ITS OBVIOUSLY BETTER) is it not implemented???

yes VistaXP, and dont say it doesnt cause it does, i have used it on my PC and it works fine and looks awesome, if this same technique was implemented in 4.5 then we would have a super slick interface.

let's hope em3 will think the same as you...

    • The post-installation disk footprint hasn't changed much. In version 0.99.1, it was 979 MB. Now, it is 959 MB. That's just 2%. Also, PowerToys fills the disk with logs like crazy. Just look inside "\AppData\Local\Microsoft\PowerToys".
    • Yeah, right! /s They've been saying that for two centuries now. Look up "China's final warning" on Wikipedia.
    • I have not verified if any of the fixes mentioned on the below article actually work. Why Claude Code Eats All Your RAM (And How to Fix It) There are at least four separate things that can eat your RAM, and only one of them is your fault. The Four Culprits 1. Bloated Session Logs (The Silent Killer). For 2-4 and more inluding the suggested fixes, see link https://marceloretana.com/blog...aude-code-eats-all-your-ram
    • One of my PC's is Windows 11 Home Edition... and guess what? it supports Hyper-V Disks and Containers, as well as WSL2... which these desktop tools leverage on an as-needed basis. It does not need to be enabled system-wide; it merely needs to exist. Furthermore, I tried something yesterday with Hermes Desktop and their "installer" actually builds everything from source as part of its installer toolchain! The installer (and updater as it were) both go through a roughly 19-step process to prep the system for the tool to be used -- and connectivity to local/remote models, local/remote agent configs, and other steps are not included as part of this process (those are all user config steps post-install). ALSO, the "bug wasn't confirmed to exist" is the weakest argument against a bug. That's literally every flawed product's knee-jerk reaction! Even politicians, lawmakers, murderers, and other violent criminals start with that defense... "I deny everything I'm accused of." The bug is the (shared) experience. Whether it's truly Claude Code's fault, or user error, or some other software package being the ultimate culprit, is not the point. They are experiencing unpleasant side effects and don't like that.
