Limewire VS Ares

I am using Ares at the moment and it works great, however, I want to try someting new.

Limewire is stating "Faster than Ever and No Bundled Software

No Spyware, No Adware, No Trojan Horse, Just Pure File Sharing"

Is this true or pure bullcrap?

It's true that they have no malware, yes.

Certainly is true, but I have found the Limewire network, has a LOT of malware and the like shared.

The full version of Ares, at least according to Spybot, does come with adware. But you can always download the Lite version that does not included the added software...or just uncheck them when installing the full version.

As far as which I like better, I have to go with Limewire...mainly because I haven't been able to connect with Ares for the longest time!

Hmm I had that problem, and I reinstalled the software and it worked ok, I think maybe the version I had was out of date but I can't be definate. :(

if it works dont fix it, ares is a great app and its much harder to find fake files on that

i'd use that over limewire

Well I don't condone file sharing, though if I want to legally share files I have created or others have done, then 'Cabos' is lightweight super fast and rocks.

It's currently at 0.50 try it, you have nothing to lose.

Uses the same network as Limewire (Gnutella) so you will get the same results and I would reccomend if you find Limewire abit hard going on your computer.

Thanks for the feed back, yes I know Ares does contain a spyware applicant. However, I think Ares does not include the spyware bundle anymore.

The downside to Limewire is the potential variants that lurk into files.

Guys, if you download Ares, download from the forums. They don't update the main page but they update in the forums. Last time I checked, they removed spyware from Ares. You can still download Ares Lite if you don't want the extra features.

And yeah, Cabos is the best. Lite, fast and does everything Limewire can do.

I personally use Cabos because Ares went bonkers on my computer and couldn't connect.

okay, i've seen limewire and see that its good too, and maybe I may change to it. do you recommend me changing from ares to limewire??

Limewire also has spyware bundled into it (WebP2P).

Torrents > Limewire + Ares :D
