Fully Taking Advantage of Group Policy

Recommended Posts

This is a cool gem I just found while browsing through gpedit.msc. It saves lots of ResHacking time.

Start> Run> "gpedit.msc"

To make a change, right click and go to properties. Enable or disable from there.

Navigate to User Configuration/Windows Components

From there check out the Internet Explorer tab, look for items like:

-Disable changing home page settings

-Change the Option Menu when you go to ../Internet Control Panel

-Check out ../Browser Menus and get rid of some of those annoying menus

Now go to Windows Explorer and look at things like:

-Turn on Classic Shell

-Remove File menu from Windows Explorer

-Remove Security tab

-Maximum number of recent documents

-Remove CD Burning features

-Display confirmation dialog when deleting files

../Common Open File Dialog

-Hide the common dialog places bar

And all the features in Windows Media Player

and Start Menu and Taskbar makes life much eaiser.

and in ../Desktop my favorite is Remove Recycle Bin icon from desktop

Good Stuff

-Advance
