Laptop doesn't detect device

Hey guys

firstly i am new here and this is my first post so i am sorry if i make any mistakes

... please correct me if i am wrong in posting this msg

now for my problem

i am using sony vaio with windows xp sp2

i am trying to connect my billionton bluetooth dongle to my laptop

but when i connect the device to my computer it does not automatically detect it

and i am sure my usp port is working fine because when i conect my webcam to it, it is detected instantly

also i have lost my driver cd for my bluetooth dongle and i have just installed nokia pc suite on my comp

now i need to know why the device is not connected and how i get my bluetooth device to work

please help

Try the Dongle on another PC? Or see if you can download the drivers from the manufacturers website ;)

Or does the laptop not have another USB port?

i have tried to dongle on three different ports

also the dongle used to work in my pc ... but it doesnt work on my laptop

i cant find the driver on the billionton website iam using USBBT02-B

I found the drivers for you!!! they are here.

I found out that the company goes under different names and in the US they are called Cadmus Micro link is here.

If you go to the contact page at Billionton here, you well find they have many different names around the world.

i am getting the drivers right now

but the problem i am still facing is that my laptop still doesnt detect the device when

i connect it to the usb port

it doesnt open the new hardware dected window and also doesnt make the sound

why does that happen how do i solve that problem ?

in device manager are there any 'unknown devices' ?

Yeah i installed the drivers

how do i check if the driver is installed properly

and nopes no "unknown devices" in the device manager

i finally see my bluetooth dongle but only as unknown device in my usb controllers ... now how do i make it work?

you need to update the driver in device manager with the driver you downloaded from the link above.
