CPU 100% Usage wih programs that arent that heavy

random programs like AresP2P and Turbo PAscal 7.0 make my CPU Usage % bounce to 100% and soon after the program is launched and still running, my comp restarts

1.3 GHz

256 RAM

I woould think its my RAM but HEAVIER programs like Firefox dont make my CPU Usage a 100% so I am wondering whats going on

most likely adware/spyware bogging you down. if scans come back clean, take a screenshot of your processes tab from task manager sorted by memory usage and post it here.

Well, a lot of times you can also blame on the outdated programs or bad codes from the software vendor or programmer.

For example, if you pay attention, a lot of BitTorrent clients run into 100% CPU issues. ABC torrent, Shadow's Client, Azeurus..

check the event viewer (start, run, eventvwr) and post the event related to the BSOD that caused the restart

Right, I'll do my best. I agree with the others, most of it has goota be a virus or spyware. Scan for a virus, and do what you can to delete it if you find one.

Use this spyware cleaner, its a lot more powerful, if it finds stuff that hasn't come up before use regedit in Run if its registry spyware (BE VERY CAREFUL - CREATE BACKUP NOW) and just browse if its files, the location is shown in the trial version:

Also, make sure you use a powerful virus scanner, if you don't have one installed, I recommend:

After all this you should clean crap floating on your PC:

Thats all, there are some other apps you could use after this is all done, I would scan for virus first, then scan for spyware and clean up in SAFE MODE (msonfig in Run -BOOT.INI - /SAFEBOOT)

If you clean up, have no spyware or virus and its still slow go to:

They'll tell you if you have additional problems, then you can go through services...

I don't see how spyware would make your computer reboot...but hey...it is windows.

Anywho, go to msconfig (I think thats where it is), and disable the "automatic restart on error" option, which causes windows to automagically restart your computer when it BSOD's (Blue Screen of Death). Why Microsoft thought this was a good idea I'll never know. This way, when it does it again you should actually be able to see the error it gives you, and then post it here and we can go from there.

Goto add/remove and remove everything you dont need. Too many people have too many things installed. This may remove a lotta crap that starts up and screws with other things automatically.

Seriously, you can get every virus scanner and adware scanner out there, but its never a 100% unless you format and install. In fact, some of these applications do more damage than fixing.

I'm really getting tired of computers these days, and so I go: "Somethings f'ed up? Format it" you spend less time formatting and installing than fixing it--which is always a half-assed solution, because a little later, the whole thing just breaks apart :D

And secondly, don't use tweakers and cleaners--any product with those names in them only creates problems.

well now I have another problem wit this.

I get BSOD (ues now I know what this stands for) after I run Pascal for a while (1-2 hours) so I was wondering what it could be and well I may sound totally retarded wen I say this but could it be the power supply? insufficient RAM? or overheating maybe?

BSOD can occur randomly, if you keep getting it then worry about it. Check you RAM use (ctrl-alt-delete - peformance - CPU usage), if its high it may well be the problem.

yes but when tp.exe runs in the task manager ntvdm.exe is shown.. .and yes when that program is run, the PC perforamce is at 100%

so is there a actual solution to this
