In search of a backup software

Question

I've searched for my question and I don't seem to be able to find an answer. I'm looking for a software exactly like Veritas' Backup exec but for Windows XP. I've tried using Windows 2003 server. But it's not a desktop OS. I want a backup software that allows me to manage my tapes. I have an HP SureStore DAT40x6. I can use Microsoft's Backup but it just doesn't have enough options. I saw an post on a version of Backup Exec for desktops but it was a old post. I've searched high and low on Veritas' site and have been unable to find a solution. Ghost is out of the question. I love Backup Exec just wish they had a desktop version!

I've tried many backup softwares including Backup MyPC 6, Nova, etc. all do not have the advance features Veritas' Backup exec have. Which are managing your tape drives and backup jobs. Anyone that has used Veritas' software know what I'm speaking of. Arcserve's desktop version is only a client to Arcserve's server. In that case I would have to have an addition computer as a server which I do not have nor want to bother with. Would anyone know if there's an older version or arcserve or backup exec that would run on windows xp?

I've been able to some what manage my tape drive by going to Computer Management>Removale Media and using Windows NTBackup. However I want a thrid party software that'll handle everything. Like Veritas/Arcserve.
